i have just brought a ke 70 and plann on doing an sr20de conversion, id like some guidence and id like to know 100% everything i need

 

at this stage i only have the engine,box and loom!

Someone on ae86drivingclub.com.au sells bolt in kits for SR20 into ke70/ae71, but to start you will need AE71 xmember, pedal box, possibly gearbox xmember too, then there's bigger brakes, bigger diff and lots of other little items.

so i couldnt use the factory pedal box? is just want to get it in and running at the moment, its not going to be a track car..

Is yours a KE70 or AE71? if it is a KE70 then you cannot use the original one because they are a cable clutch.

It's a ke70! So could I use an ae71 pedal box?

So at the very least if you want to use pre made engine mounts you will need the same stuff I said above.

When putting a 4A into a KE70, people will use either an AE86 or AE71 engine crossmember, so I'd assume that you would need to get something custom made (could be a kit or something out there).

 

You would most likely need the hydro clutch setup. As mentioned, the KE70's have a cable clutch, whereas most more modern things will use a hydraulic. These used to be around $80-$100 each, though now people are asking (and getting) upto $250.

 

My advice (and the advice off almost everyone else on the forums) would be to find an existing build thread where someone else has done the conversion (as it's fairly common) and see what they have done. This will also let you find out all the possible pitfalls etc.

what about the wiring harness from the sr, would i just plug it up and get power to the srarter and an electronic fuel pump and it would go?
