littlekev Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 Well, as the title suggests, I'm new to rollaclub, and i have a ke70 granny spec that i just aquired for free  its an 84 auto, my father inlaw's aunty bought it new, it has 118,xxx k's, a little rust here and there but over all its in great nick for a car from a beachsidetown. she failed her lisence test (shes 89) so does not need the car so just gave it to me. i don't have any pics yet, and the plan it to keep it stock for a while (till i get some cash) then play with it. i live in coffs harbour, I'm 31, and a 2nd yr diesel mechanic apprentice. wanna know anything else, just ask  kev Quote
Des Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 Best mod you can do to that car is put a 5 speed in it. Reasonably cheap to buy the bits required. Might see you round next time I'm 4x4ing in coffs. Quote
altezzaclub Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Lucky man! Des is right, the 5speed makes a big difference. Lighten the flywheel while it is out too. We bought a donor car, took the bits we wanted and sold it on. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/42407-the-girls-ke70/ Quote
snot35 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Score! Best I've ever done was a KE30 for a carton of beer. Welcome :) Quote
littlekev Posted December 30, 2011 Author Report Posted December 30, 2011 thanks guys, i might look into the manual convo soonish, I'm gettin over the auto already. never liked em. Quote
Ben-89 Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 Sounds like a good little car, Ive driven a ke70 with close to 400k on the clock and while it was tight, smooth and refined to drive it certanly wasnt inspiring to drive. Youll notice a manual conversion will transform the car straight away :y: Once you acquired all the appropriate parts it should take a good day or weekend to do, especially with good assistance :) So no pictures  Quote
littlekev Posted April 8, 2012 Author Report Posted April 8, 2012 well, the decision has been made to sell the car. we don't need it. its unreg and will need a blueslip to b reg again. it would make a great base for a project though. its straight, clean in and out, small spots of rust but nothin big. it was owned and driven by a (now 89 yr) old lady its whole life, she bought it brand new. not sure what its worth, what u guys think?? how much would it be worth?? just after a ball park figure..
