boofis Posted December 28, 2005 Author Report Posted December 28, 2005 Thanks mate. I'll make a list of that and try to track it all down. What rpm do dremel moto tool copies spin at? Anticipation is killing me I just want to shred this head hahaha. Quote
Felix Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 the one i have (ozito) goes from 8000 to 35000 RPM. don't try to run them flat out with sanding rolls or they go verrZING! find a comfortable speed and let the abrasives do the work. goggles are a must. Quote
Super Jamie Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 yeah, buy a good set of goggles. i have walked around for 4 days with a shard of metal stuck in my eye because i was too stupid to use them with the angle grinder. i also then had to endure the pain of my girlfriend taking the piece out the top of my eyeball with tweezers and a toothpick goggles :) Quote
boofis Posted December 28, 2005 Author Report Posted December 28, 2005 I can't believe it took you bad experiences to realise you have to wear goggles haha. I love them almost as much as the grinder itself. But ouch, I never want to have to have shit scraped off my eye ow. Quote
boofis Posted December 28, 2005 Author Report Posted December 28, 2005 prevention is better than any cure :D haha, slow learners and you call yourself corolla modifiers :) You have to think quick and be irrational to own a corolla :( Mmmmmm, grinder. On topic again, what affects does the heat have on the metal? can it also damage or change the properties if you stay on one spot too long etc.? Don't want to have any problems ;) lol. Quote
boofis Posted January 8, 2006 Author Report Posted January 8, 2006 haha man we got off topic. But yeah, going to see if I can visit that engineering place that Kangaroosa recommended sometime in the next 2 weeks. I'll tell you how it goes. Quote
Super Jamie Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 prevention is better than any cure :y: haha, slow learners and you call yourself corolla modifiers :rocknroll: You have to think quick and be irrational to own a corolla :P Mmmmmm, grinder. On topic again, what affects does the heat have on the metal? can it also damage or change the properties if you stay on one spot too long etc.? Don't want to have any problems :y: lol. yes, but i'm not sure what effect it would have (hardening/softeneing, etc) on head alloy. that's part of the reason you don't cut springs with an angle grinder, it changes the tempering of the metal. get stewart to sign up and post here Quote
boofis Posted January 8, 2006 Author Report Posted January 8, 2006 I've told him about rc a few times but it never gets through. I shall try again. Yeah, metallurgists anywhere? Noone on here lol? Quote
Hokey Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Troy i just read the lot and you said your engine was going to be toyota? wtf anyhuu i think that a dremel would be the best for you because you will use it on many heads to come and maybe i could borrow it sometime hey :P don't forget whenever you are going to buy tools go and see dave first and he will give you a huge discount. Cheers. PS stop wasting time on matts ghey pulsar and work on the 55. GL with the metal patching :rocknroll: Quote
muller Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 swarf in your eye and rust in another, you should start up an off topic injury thread or something. sounds nasty! USE GOGGLES :harhar: engineers cost to much to even just come out and look at it. Quote
boofis Posted January 11, 2006 Author Report Posted January 11, 2006 Yes engineering is pricey...it sucks. And hokey keep your mouth shut boy, go talk to your uncle or something :harhar: :) Yeah thanks I forgot about dave. Quote
