I SAY WE SERIOUSLY LOOK AT A CRUISE GUYS, IF U WANT ATTRACTION TO THE CLUB, THEN THATS HOW UR GONNA DO IT. people don't LIKE BBQ'S N THAT, THEY WANNA C what OTHERS HAVE DONE TO THIER CARS AND HOW THEY PERFORM N SOUND. I don't WANNA RUBBISH what U GUYS ARE DOIN AT THE MOMENT, IF BBQ' SR UR THING THATS FINE, BUT IF U WANT GROWTH, I SAY CRUISES.

WHAT DO U GUYS THINK?

I think you should stop shouting.

:y: I know that its already been said quite enough but i just wanted to add my two cents...

GZE82 you sound like a really fun person and i think that there are a lot of guys and girls out there that would love to come cruising with you. And I'm not saying that you can't do just that... You just have to remember when you are saying that it would be a promoter for the club that in order for that to happen Corollas would sort of have to be the vehicles displayed.

It's great that you want to get out there and get into it! But you can't be promoting a club when you are in a group of cars that are merely "standing in daily drivers" and most likely not even corollas - wouldnt it be a little strange to have a bunch of guys and girls standing around their commodores, mitsibishis and the like handing out rollaclub stickers and promoting a club with just about every other car than the corolla itself. It would be like the West Coast Choppers going for a cruise on their grandmothers scooters wearing pink leotards and frilly skirts!!!

We understand that you would love to bring to our club new members and not only are we thrilled to hear it we are always willing to welcome those members too - but just remember to think a little when you say you want to "promote" rollaclub.

Rollaclub is about corollas both old and new - and the best way to promote our club is to have them come out in their best form and promote themselves as what they are; with the inclusion of their owners and sticker giveaways etc. And the bbq's that you say most people arent interested in - If you think about it- that is how you are going to meet all these new people and actually be able to talk to them about their cars and their ideas and get to know them. Not everyone just wants to go out and show off their ride by floogging it down some street or cruising around some mountain. Sometimes it is good to get to know people because not only do you develop a trust with them it makes the cruises when they actually happen that much better.

But all that aside...

Welcome to Rollaclub...We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you around the forums... If ever you need a hand there will always be someone here to help...Enjoy!!!

i would also like to say that i agree with rolln16 and his highlighted points, but i think since the people are new to eachother in the flesh then it shouldnt matter what your driving cause its a day of meet and greet. theres plenty of time to get the rolla club message out driving the rollas and such but wouldnt it work better if the people running it all actually knew eachother and could work as a club?

it would be a bonus if the cars attending were rollas though. ill be driving my mums VT cause my rolla is up on stands in the shed at the moment but i still wanna meet people and say hi. put faces to names to nicknames/display names

Firstly...I'm a she. :D

Now, I have quoted you Muller not because i don't see where you are coming from - its just that you are a little off the point. GZE82 is talking about promoting Rollaclub. I have no qualms whatsoever as i mentioned; about whether those guys get out and go for a cruise - If anything, i say go for it!!! But when he is talking about promoting rollaclub that is where he did not really think about the situation at hand... (see above post for explanation) Rollaclub is called Rollaclub for a reason. We have absolutely no problems if when we go on cruises and whatnot if other cars are used as drivers because when you are in a cruise there are more likely going to be a whole bunch of people there who are able to provide the promoting for the corolla. If anything i don't think there will ever be a case where a cruise is strictly all corollas.

But when you are particularly talking about the promoting of the the club via a cruise that is when i have to say that corollas would really be the best for the job. It shows the club as being professional and not just as a group of people driving any odd car promoting another car while they are at it - its very contradicting. You don't see fords going round promoting holdens do you???

Like i said, the Choppers have the attention they have because of how they look when they go out - its easy to promote a club - but to actually look like a club when you go out to promote it; is the hard task...but by far the most impressive of the two. And that is what we want to create - a lasting impression - because that is what draws members to us.

but wouldnt it work better if the people running it all actually knew eachother and could work as a club?

I did not say at any time that people couldnt go out and get to know each other... in fact that is what a club is all about - going out and meeting people of like minds and interests and having fun in the process. Go out and Go nutz!!! I say - but just remember if you want to promote something - people look out for how proffessional it is done - NOT just how many people there are or what freebies they can gain from it. If you can show a club with a united front who knows what its on about - that is one of the best ways to attract the members who in the future may just be the finacial support for the club. People don't want to back something that appears dodgy or half thought about...

I hope you understand and that no hard feelings have been taken in regard to this subject... your opinions are greatly valued ALL the time...
