It's_AUDM_Yo Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 Ok so tomorrow afternoon I have to go pull out my 4age from this guys house. Thing is I have to supply the crane and I have an Engine load leveler So my question is what is the best way to connect it to the motor?(D shackle's, Bolt it on some where etc) Sorry for such a noob/dumb/retarded question. A picture would be awesome as well. I just couldn't find anything and I'm kinda worried lol. This is my first time pulling out a motor. Let alone doing it at some one else's house so I kinda sort out the gear before I go. And any random tips would be lovely. Many thanks in advanced! Quote
Gizzys25 Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 On mine there were 2 hooks. Slip the chain over them and lift. Make sure nothings connected though. If fwd, easier to bring the gearbox with the engine as it is a straight vertical lift. Disconect the CV's If rwd, leave the gear box behind and slide forwards before lifting to clear the input shaft. Good luck and take your time. Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted May 26, 2012 Author Report Posted May 26, 2012 Chees mate! Its in rwd format. Do they all have hooks? Quote
BlueKsev Posted May 27, 2012 Report Posted May 27, 2012 (edited) If you can roll the hoist backwards and forwards you can take it out with the gearbox attached no problems, done it plenty with 4a-c's And unless someone has stolen your hooks off your motor it should have them! if not you'll find a bolt or something somewhere instead Edited May 27, 2012 by BlueKsev Quote
