Dan Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Funnily enough, i've collected enough quality bike parts over the last 5 or so years to build about 5 bmx bikes haha... well maybe not but I've definetly got enough to build at least a few. Got plenty of mountain bike parts but I strip them and can't remember how the gears work, dunno but I guess that i gotta put em back together someday. Sadly, for me its bike or car... i chose car... TOMsGPTurbo Posted January 25, 2006 Author Report Posted January 25, 2006 Geta bike and go riding, its so healthy and better work then walking, like today I rode up a hill which I find challanging to walk up, and in my mind I was swearing, in pain, wanting to throw up, and having a great time pushing my body. :P Instead of BMX racing have you tried Mountain Biking??? I am a XC (cross country) rider at the moment, but I've done northshore stuff on logs and ramps and its a fantastic challange. Or Downhill might be your cup of tea???? thats flying down hills extremely fast, basically like rally but on a bike and best time wins. Another thing is that bike manufactures are making hybrids between BMX and MTB's and theres a whole bunch of jump bikes to choose from, and you can score a nice ride for under a grand. Dan put some bikes together, no one cares what people ride, as its the 1st rule of riding, never ever EVER put down someone due to their bike. As we all have different budgets and the main thing is your out riding having a go rather then eating a pie and playing on the computer. Also, another awesome thing about riding is that you don't have to be fit, you can be unfit, start off easy and build yourself up. I love riding, nearly as much as I love driving. (55% driving to 45% riding ratio) Here is a pic of my racer which I bang together using nothing but parts I found here and there. A pic of my helmet when things go wrong, and a pic of current beast. love ke70 Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 i love riding too, its something i used to do alot! but now i have my license and its summer its all too much i had my first mountain bike, 18 speed, fairly cheap and rather heavy, and as i never go off road it was pointless, i now ride my dads 5 speed "racing" well he calls it a racing bike, I'm more inclined to just call it a road bike, but sheeze its awesome, absolutely love it! so light, and will roll forever looks very much like your red one, only its purple :P oh also, what happened to that helmet?, looks like a nasty bump mate Quote
Dan Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Yea well I've put a fair few bikes together... finally got a few good vert/street bmxes in my hands, but it pisses me off cos i'm a tall c**t, so i'm saving for a dirt jumper (you know them mountain bikes built for the dirt jumpers, not a dirty jumper, can see the smartass comments rollin in already! :P) Anywho... Jason Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 ahhh mtb, so much fun so many memories of me drifting my old peice of shit around the naborhood for about 1hr before the spokes fell off :P Ive riden expensive bikes and cheap bikes, i had a $600 one for competive use and used to kick the crap out of every one who spent $500. But nothing beats the share fun of the spring only suspention of $100 kmart bikes :y: (just bought it last week) snapped the axel in my comp one :) Quote
