Jordain Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Since playing with Datsun 1200's for the last 3 weeks I've noticed one thing.... They have the same diff as a KE10. I blew my Datsun diff, and i looked the KE10 diff's i had lying around and they were exactly the same.. Different stud pattern and tailshaft flange. Quoted from the Datsun Tech wiki " Apparently this is the same diff that was in AMI-built Corolla KE10, but those have a 4 x 110 wheel bolt pattern. " The Borgwarner Model 60 rear diff... So i'm thinking the people with Borg Warner diffs in their KE10's could potentially unbolt the axles out, and put Datsun 1200 Axles which are 4x114.3 and then put KE20 discs with 30 hubs and have a 4x114.3 conversion for probably around $50-200 depending on how cheap you get the parts.... Somebody should try it. I tried to get my Borgy axle out and it wouldn't come apart so gave up lol! 1 Quote
philbey Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 (edited) Wow that's handy to know, converting the rears is always the hard bit on KE10's. I've added it into the wiki, if anyone can confirm with any additional details that would be good. http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=KE1x_Rear_Diff_-_convert_to_4x114.3 Edited July 9, 2012 by philbey Quote
Jono.C Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 I've heard this from several people before, never had a 1200 diff to confirm it though Quote
camorinta Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Any updates with this? Would be interesting Quote
Jono.C Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 I don't have any axles to try it. Instead I'm going ke30 jap axles and drums Quote
DavidJP Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Is this the leaf spring Datsun diff of the coil spring diff? Quote
