Do I just cut it off so it's just the top part and mount as normal?

But yeah you just cut it at the top there and mount it how you normally would.

So just hack saw and sand smooth to keep it neat?

I used a grinder but a saw would work. Sand it if you want, I didn't and it looks pretty rough but then a 70 with a roof spoiler looks rough anyway...
