What's that white thing on the rear of the engine?

That's a good question reed! I'll find out.

It's the air suction system. That white thing is the filter and valve. It uses exhaust pulses to pull air into exhaust ports 1 and 4 for mine. Allows combustion to continue, reducing unburned hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. Yes I got it from the manual. A very old manual.
