philbey Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 Hi guys picked up a brand new car this week and I'm keen to make sure i keep it in primo condition. I've cut and polished plenty of old bangers before, but that's clearly not way to roll how. Just keen to know: - what's the best way to protect the paint, post wash - good products that people have used before? It's black, so shes gonna need plenty of washing. Quote
KeelzaMate Posted December 30, 2012 Report Posted December 30, 2012 Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0, comes in a liquid or a paste (synthetic based wax). Use it on my white golf, comes up a treat, use it on the wheels also, easier to clean the next time. Quote
philbey Posted January 2, 2013 Author Report Posted January 2, 2013 Cool thanks for that. I actually got a Meguiars kit, but it's the ultimate wash not the NXT. Quote
JJT036 Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) I currently work for a auto refinnish company and most of the panel shops are using Auto glym super resin polish ( no buff required can be applied by hand } Cheers woz Edited January 2, 2013 by JJT036 Quote
altezzaclub Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 When I was at CRC we had Flashwax, which was white spirits with wax dissolved into it rather than the wax/white spirits-water emulsion that 90% of polishes are. It spread the wax very evenly as a liquid, and had very fine grinding particles to make it easy to rub off. This meant it didn't remove much of the paint. I don't know if it is still available, or if you can find some similar product that has no water in and a very fine particle size. Quote
JJT036 Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 (edited) yeah flash wax is still available and it is one of the easiest to use , also juice products have one called speed wax that is water based but very easy to use i think juice have a you tube vid you can watch cheers woz Edited January 3, 2013 by JJT036 Quote
