Due to scarcity of above, can a rad from a 1990s Starlet/Tercel be fitted instead?, given the vast availibity of such vehicles' parts locally

Not sure where you are, but would a KE55 radiator be a closer fit? At least the inlets and outlets ought to be in the same place and there's a chance the radiator support panels are similar.

 

I'm sure you could fit anything with a bit of creativity and persuasion!

we had a few of them around, so would probably find one. If not, how about that of a ke20? I know of a dismantled one

get any radiator and make up brackets&hoses to fit
