AE90 Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Hey guys, What corolla's do the 4age come stock in? Another question, my car has got a slight backfire, and it is spitting out a heap of condensation and what I belive are carbon particles out of the exhaust. I have tried numerous options: new plugs, fixed the timing which was out 3 degrees. New needle and seat, checked the float level in carby which was fine. But it is still doing it. I'm out of options. Any ideas??? Quote
Robert Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 condensation is normal due to the cat converter. use some carby cleaner to clean out your carby and upper cylinder. 4AGEs come stock in AE82 onwards Quote
AE90 Posted May 10, 2006 Author Report Posted May 10, 2006 I hae tried the carby cleaner, but it didn't do anything. I have had to cat checked out to and apparrently it's fine. So I dunno what else to try. Quote

towe001 Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 Another question, my car has got a slight backfire, The "slight backfire" could be that you have hole in the exhaust manifold somewhere, like a gasket thats blown though. Fresh air is being sucked into the exhaust and its re-igniting the exhaust gas. As for the carbon, get yourself a compression gauge and see what the compression is on each cylinder. Me personally, i also like using a vacuum gauge as well. Quote
