TOMsGPTurbo Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Hey guys Went for a drive to Springbrook today to collect some rocks for my aquarium.. anyhow since maxi is off the road a family friend has lent me the use of his 1983 FWD 2.0 Carby Ford Telstar (rebadged Mazda 626). For a very heavy underpowered car it can actually move quite well through corners, today I left a done up excel for dead, caught a Saab and still managed to have a great drive in a very 'crapy' car. I've decided I'm a cornering person... I love corners at speed... the feeling of balancing the car...controlling it ... taming it.. listening to engine sing.. being prepared for the next corner to do it all over again.... what a rush :) :D Tommi, Quote
Teddy Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Telstar! My friend matt had 2 telstarts. 1 had a seised motor, fair body and more mud in the car than in the australian desert. The other telstar he got of e-bay. Did and engine swap - ditched the motor from the origional telstar, and got the 1 outa the ebay car. Eventually they got it to the mechanic, did tests on it, and that motor only had about 6 months left in it if that - so he thought buga that, (after completly re-doin the inteirour) = there off 2 the tip, Both of them ! ! (what a great way to start in the car world, only to be given the classic Ford kickback - A BrEaK DoWn (X2 in his case! ! :) ) . . . Ford What Will Break Today? Quote
TOMsGPTurbo Posted April 26, 2004 Author Report Posted April 26, 2004 This is one of the rebadged mazda's We have had one in the family for 15yrs... only problem was a poped radiator hose one hot day.. and that was that.. went like a dream.. All you have to do is service it and look after it and it will last like any other car. Quote
