evilbetty Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 hay there just a quick question for some one who might have seen this done or know how to do it, i want to put a sub in a box in the boot of my ke55 but i don't want to lose the acess to the spare tyre, does any one know of any one cuting the spare tyre well out and replacing it with a flat panel then fitting the spare tyre under the car rather than in the boot, just an idea i had ??????? Raven Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 There is a thread going on somewhere about this at the moment. If you were going to do that, i suggest looking at how a corolla stationwagon/panel van's spare wheel mounts under the car  Quote
love ke70 Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 i would be talking to an engineer about legalities of doing this, as the spare tyre well over a fair amount of bracing due to its shape, it may be legal, but you would prob have to brace the whole rather well, not just wack a peice of sheet metal over the top... may be wrong, but it doesnt hurt to check with RTA Quote
evilbetty Posted June 13, 2006 Author Report Posted June 13, 2006 hmmm yes i think it could get quite involved specialy if it needs an engineers aproval and the likes ,anyway it was just an idea i was just curious to see if anyone had gone this far????cheers for the input . evilbetty Quote
