i want to put a sub in a box in the boot of my ke55 but i don't want to lose the acess to the spare tyre, does any one know of

any one cuting the spare tyre well out and replacing it with a flat panel then fitting the spare tyre under the car rather than in the boot, just an idea i had ???????

There is a thread going on somewhere about this at the moment.

If you were going to do that, i suggest looking at how a corolla stationwagon/panel van's spare wheel mounts under the car

i would be talking to an engineer about legalities of doing this, as the spare tyre well over a fair amount of bracing due to its shape, it may be legal, but you would prob have to brace the whole rather well, not just wack a peice of sheet metal over the top...

may be wrong, but it doesnt hurt to check with RTA
