Des Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 ok people i have a ae82 seca and I'm sucking to much current what does the standand 4a-fc alternator put out amps wise Quote
towe001 Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 The 4a-fc alternator is around 60-70 amps. Generally the alternator from an efi engine puts out more amps. If your not worried about modding mounting points the alternator from the vs commodore is around the 90 amp mark. Quote
Des Posted July 7, 2006 Author Report Posted July 7, 2006 i went to the auto electrition and he said my alternater was just pushing 40 amps. got a v6 camry alternater put all the guts inside the corolla one and a few other bits and boom i have 90 amps. Quote
irokin Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 got a v6 camry alternater put all the guts inside the corolla one and a few other bits and boom i have 90 amps. Score! Ive noticed with my silvia when I stop the engine at night with the headlights on, they'll get brighter just as you turn the key off (while the engines still turning and altenator still charging) and then die down again as the engine slows to a halt. So the EFI system as a whole must drain a fair amount of power. Noticed much difference with the 90 amper? Quote
Des Posted July 8, 2006 Author Report Posted July 8, 2006 me corolla with the old alternator the lights never got brighter the just sucked alltogether so i put small driving lights on any i was told that as u rev the engine the power never went up only the frequency did is this true? Quote
