what i have done is warm up the vinyl with a heat gun and peal it of, i filled the cracks with expander foam and sanded it back. i still have to get some vinyl to recover it but there is no more cracks :hmm:

My dash has a decent crack straight through it, I've never been bothered to do anything about it, though. If I was going to I'd probably fill the crack with araldite making sure it completely filled the crevace and there were no air bubbles. I'd then leave it about a week to go super hard, then sand it back and paint or cover it.
