irokin Posted August 31, 2006 Author Report Posted August 31, 2006 Tomei who sell Holinger GTR gearboxes in Japan list their price as $30,000 (AUD I think) for the sequential. Quote

muller Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 OMFG, tissues STAT. Listen to that thing scream, would sound deafening inside that car. Its obviously personal preference but i would have thought a traditional H-Pattern gearbox would have been the go in such a top end performance car. Although it does alleviate missing gears. And are you serious for 30,000 for a Gear box?? Quote

And are you serious for 30,000 for a Gear box?? Yep $30k built in Australia. Sequentials are good but they do have down sides too. Such as you can't skip gates like some V8 Supercar drivers like to do and some designs have a tendancy for the shifting mechanism to jam (Isnt so much of a problem these days I don't think). Still many top levels of motorsport use them. Champ Cars have been using manually shifted sequential boxes (they move to paddle shift next year). The new Carrera Cup 911 GT3 997 for next year has a sequential box. Quote
Jason Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 bargin i say they still have clutch by the looks of it though? Quote
