Hi all

 

Through the Toyota Car Club down here in Victoria I have received some correspondence from Toyota, as they are putting together a display of original Australian built Toyota's. They already have a good collection from the 60's when AMI first kicked off, but then it drops off, so they are looking for some assistance from enthusiasts out there. If you have a nice nanna spec corolla/corona/crown that was built here in Australia, they would like to hear from you.

 

Given you won't have your car for a few days, I am thinking it will suit Victorians mostly.

Beat me to it. Heard about this at work. Have you posted this up at toymods? Pity my car has had too much done to it cause otherwise it is certainly clean enough.

They are all full now. Thanks for making this a sticky mods. Hopefully a few of us will be able to go down for a look even though its not for the public. Will post some photos if I can :S

Full already? On Monday Peter replied to an email I sent saying he would be in touch with me. They don't waste any time!

I don't think they had time to muck around! Pulling something together like that in just a month's time is a bit of a challenge I imagine :)

AFAIK, there was himself and two others at least attending to responses via email and phone. i wonder how many cars have been offered? and how many they'll have out for viewing?

well, just dropped the MS65 off this morning.

 

had a short chat with Fiona and Peter while waiting for the cab to arrive. they knocked back someone on friday cos their dash was cracked in a few spots. also got a peek at the new camry hybrid. :P

 

and some other special news (for me it's pretty special anyway, others not so much) on tuesday night at the TCCAV meeting.

well this is the first i have heard. i'd love to come down and see a bunch of overrated ami toyotas. where, when and how do i get in?

and it appears that i'm officially out of sneaking attendance on friday. have just found out there'll only be 2 of us in the office, instead of the usual 4, so no chance at all of getting away :)
