Hi I have a AE92 and today I went to get the air con re-gassed, but unfortunantly there was a small hair line crack where the air conditioning lines connect to the condenser just behind the right headlight. The hair line crack is about 10-15mm long and starts from the lip. Tried a thicker o ring but still leaking slightly. Is there anything out there or a product that can repair the crack such as aluminum welding it from the outside? or should I just replace the condenser?

Well my Christmas presents to my self arrived in the mail today and It felt like it was Christmas day all over again unwrapping this thing! Good work sorting out the rush problems. Hit it hard now while its only surface stuff or a little bit of grinding before it gets any worse and starts making decent holes in your metal. :y:

That's exactly what a few friends have said just go straight to coil overs and don't bother with shocks and springs. I thought about a double din and I was looking into getting a pioneer touch screen dvd head unit. But the only problem is that its quite low the area for the double din and especially with the automatic stick sits up quite high, Oh decisions decisions... Yeah I was pretty pissed that something happened so soon and thought it was going to be a really expensive fix which it wasn't. All in all I'm happy with her and she's running like a dream.

Yeah going to get it tinted, because it gets boiling hot inside. Put some decent speakers in it and still tossing up if I should leave the original tape deck in it or not. the only thing is the cassette player doesn't work anymore. Ive always got my eye out for some lowered spring and shocks. If any come around for the right price I would buy some. Thats all I have planned for it for now.

So here is the pictures from when the sump pan was dropped. As you can see all the metal shavings from the bearings. All cleaned up and getting ready to put back together Sump pan cleaned up aswell Car has been running around now for a week on the road and it runs beautifully :)

Thanks Chris for the comment. Update with the rolla is back on the road and purring like a kitten As I don't have the money for a 20v conversion I had to fix the corolla. The picture above showed the sump catch with a little metal in it, that was nothing compared to what was in the bottom of the sump pan. It had looked like someone had thrown a hand full of confetti in there which was all the metal shavings from the inner lining of the bearing. In the end it was the big end bearing 1 & 2, 2 being the worse. Picture soon once I get them of my mates phone.

Engine bay after shot looks amazing Ben, great work as usual. After I fix the rolla it will definitely needing a going over with a toothbrush and degreaser. Just wondering in your windscreen water container that's a windscreen washing liquid?

More work has been happening on the rolla as there has been a problem with the engine. Started making a tapping / rattle noise on start up and slowly has increased when driving it on hard acceleration. Thought it could of been the tappets, on further investigating the noise in was lower down and was pretty sure it was the big end bearing. Got the car up on stands and dropped the sump pan out of it and found the sump catch full of bits of the bearing And whats left of the big end bearing. Decided to make it into a keyring for a souvenir. Left the car for now, need to check the conrods if there is any damage to them and then source some parts for it.

Got the car registered yesterday and just finished up on a little things of the car. Absolutely love driving this rolla, it like a little toy and I don't want to give it to my girlfriend :( Took it to the local park today and took a few photos to show you guys the finished product! Hope you guys like the finished product. There is still a few things on the list to do, tinting and lower it a little.

Progress with the rolla has been slow lately as I have been very sick lately and was unable to get out of bed for a week. So once I felt a little better I was out a pick and payless scavenging through cars and grabbed a few things. Replaced the rusted out muffler that was on it with one I pick up from pick n payless which looked brand new off a corolla in the yard. I wasn't happy with the sx alloy wheels I got to put on the rolla. So I put the Levin alloy 14" wheels which I picked up for my car but never got around putting them on as yet. Had them wrapped in Pirelli's and put them on the car and they look really nice on it. Car is now blue and green slipped, just got to rego and I can let her loose on the road! More pictures to come in the next few days.

Thanks for that, Ive contacts both of them just awaiting to see what they come up with. Just a question with the digital clock that goes above the original tape deck. I took the plastics off to install it thinking that it will have the wiring loom and plug for it but I can't seem to find it back there. Do you know if they put the wiring in them for it but it was a optional extra and it was pretty much plug and play. Is the plug back there and I haven't searched deeper or nothing if back there.

Yeah it was a blessing in disguise. Nah haven't come across the handle plastics. I went out to pick and payless and there was nothing! There was a seca sx with all the extras like electric windows and all. Unmolested from the hoards of people so I was lucky to get the little clock that goes above the original tape deck so can't wait to put that in. I didn't get the centre console that has the double lid. I pick up some seca ninjastar alloy wheels with rubber the only problem it didn't come with centre caps. I've just got to source out some caps for it.

Guy came this afternoon and put the window in. 1 step closer to rego! can't wait to get her on the road. The guy that came and did my windscreen, I would highly recommended him. He has done other friends cars in the past and they have never had a problem. I got a windscreen done by o'brien about 4 weeks ago through insurance purposes for my other corolla and I'm already having headaches with it. O'brien quoted $690 supplied and fitted including molding. He did the same thing for $250 with the same glass that o'brien use. Just finishing up the corolla getting it ready for blue slip next week some time. Got the quarters and mud guards on and put the side grilles on. Had to remove pretty much all the plastic from the rear just to put these grilles on because they screw is from behind. Went to carpet court and got some off cut underlay and re-underlay the rear boot carpet Some pictures of the front windscreen before the new one gets put in. Well the guy came and removed the front windscreen and we found rust underneath it. So he left it and I told him to come back tomorrow and it will be ready and prepped for him to put it in. Got to work and masked off the windscreen and started to grind off the the rust and uneven areas. Then used the wire brush on the pitted area that couldn't be reached with the angle grinder. After all that it revealed 4 small holes from were the rust has eaten through. So I rust treated the the hole windscreen area. They were to small for me to get the welder in there and I don't have the correct welder for the job so decided to just bog up the holes because they where small holes. Sanded off the bog and white primed the seal area.

Thanks for the tip. Ive got to go out to pick and pay less and pick up a few little pieces for the car. I will definitely keep and eye out for the Seca's.

Project rolla has been coming along nicely. Got the car pretty much back all back together minus and a few little things. I have washed the rear boot carpet but just have to replace the carpet sponge underlay because it was pretty beat up and had tears in it. My buffer still hasn't arrived so I ended up borrowing a mates buffer because I couldn't wait any longer. So I ended up cutting and buffing the car and it came out really nice, after that I hand polished the car with super resin polish and then did extra gloss protection. You leave that stuff on for an hour and then hand buff it off and the gloss and smoothness is incredible. All that's left is cut and buff the front bumper, polish and protect it and put a few odds and ends on. Put the door cards and trims on, not happy with the little ash tray parts on the trims so going to source out some better looking ones. Got the rear hatch garnish on after spaying gloss black to match. Not happy with the rubber seal at the back how it sticks up so I will try and get a new seal or a better condition seal. Few shots after cut and buffing I mask up each door when buffing so I don't burn through any corners or edges, not buffed yet. Left side complete Time for the right side Only run I get in the paint is inside the right grille...luckily you don't see it because its covered. After hand polish and gloss protection Rear bumper attached and cleaned back window

Yeah the original has a slight contour so the one I made sits up a bit but all in all its not a problem. Sounds like a good idea, it would look good to have a completely flat boot. :y:
