I can't a picture up of it for some reason. but i need a knob on the end of the cable to fit. The KE26 one sits over a knob on the body/throttle control. Will the KE70 throttle cable fit this, like with a knob on the end of it? Thats what i'm basically after. And i'll work it out from there. I just haven't had time to get down the wreckers yet.

Just wondering what throttle cable will work for a Dell'orto sidedraught carby on a KE26? Thanks.

Alright, well it always had the 5speed box in it. But this part has obviously gone missing. It will still drive? And is it just a matter of getting one off a four speed , then putting it straight onto my gearbox? Or is it more complicated than that?? Like does it slide on or what. Thanks for the info.

Wait.... Maybe i have a short block. How can i confirm this? Cheers.

Alright so i've just got home and whacked on the carby again (as i took it off to put the engine in properly). I've attempted putting the air filter back on with the casing. What i'm maybe thinking of doing, is cutting out a bit of the casing (for the air filter) so that where it hits the strut are of the body the filter just pushes in. Or i get a 1 - 3/4 inch k&n filter (thankyou corolla_bitten for the link) Seeing as you guys have been pretty frigen helpful. I have another problem. I attached my tailshaft to the gearbox, and uhhhhhhhh either I'm ridiculously stupid and have never noticed this but the tailshaft comes up short (WTF) have a look, sorry about the shitty pic. Also difference in starters. The bottom one being the one i ran originally with the K50. The one that came with the engine is shorter in length (top one), and the gears don't stick out as much..... :hmm: Lets face it i'm having A LOT of trouble.

There is definitely a difference between the engine mounts, i'm not sure about the 10mm difference though. I'm so confused because i changed engines originally then bought another 4K and well i lost the KE26 mounts :blush: so now i'm not really sure which ones i have.

Where could i go to get a filter? A slimline one. And yeah ill try a spacer first, if i can get one.

Bloody well hope so haha. This engine transplant is taking me a lot longer than what i thought it would.

I'm not too familiar with these carbs and air filters. But i know what you mean. I'm going to try and put a big spacer in the passenger side engine mount, and that will lift it up and hopefully clear the body.

Gday guys, I've called it a day. Nearlly giving up on the whole car ha. I have a KE26, I'm putting an engine in atm, with a single sidedraught. Let the picture do the talking.

Does ANYONE have any pictures of this type of system hooked up. I can't seem to figure it out for now. So in the meantime ill just run it with an oilfilter.

Yeah I'm not using it for anything else than casual driving. NO thermostat. And heres the system. Probably just looks regular hey? But i'm not familiar with this stuff haha. Oil Filter will do me just fine. How much is this worth second hand as is, because i wouldn't have a clue. And need to get rid of it.

I didn't think so. No worries thanks for that. I may aswell just sell it off, as I'm not planning on running a turbo or any such thing haha.

Hey guys, i've just bought a 4K and it came with a Oil Cooler. The engine has a little bit of work done to it like cam and ported and stuff, but is an Oil Cooler necessary? And its just my daily btw. Cheers

Ohk, i've purchased a mildly worked 4K now so this should be in her soon. Complete with Dell'Orto side draught carby, Redline manifold and Extractors along with other head work and a lumpy cam (specs to come on cam). Pretty pumped to get this in and running. Will be slow progress getting her in, should be in by next week or sooner hopefully. Cheers

Alright so i finally scored a 4K. Not it's not a 5K but it will do for now. Thinking of painting the Block, Head and Rocker Cover. What paint should i use if anyone has any recommendations. Maybe also on some prep work i could do. ( I DO NOT plan on pulling it apart,but i'm sure it can be easily masked etc. Also want to paint my Extractors matt Black or Blue. Is there any paint in particular you recommend (obviously a non resistant heat one) not familiar with all this kinda stuff, so sorry for being a bit of a noob. Thanks :laff:

Yeah i want to upgrade to a 5K, obviously they are pretty difficult to find. Especially while i'm at uni. But one will pop up soon enough i hope.

Alright so this one isn't on the road anymore. I couldn't really afford 2 cars to be on the road at once. However it still runs, alot better than my KE26. Started first time after ages and is quiet as compared to the 4k in the 26. Miss it haha.

Alright i've hit a big of a block atm. Engine goes but is running rough as guts and can't drive it. In the process of pulling it out atm. And sourcing another engine that actually goes and starts first time with no problems. Worst times. :bash:

Really enjoying this build mate. Inspiring to build up my 26. I also have similar widened steelies. I got a quote for widening at about $120 a wheel which wasn't too bad.

Looks nice mate. You're giving me inspiration to put on my widened steelies for my KE26 now haha. It's good because you can always change the colour with not too much hassle. I personally liked the blue. Each to their own :yes: Cheers Jordan
