A.C.T rego are ok with the 5k into a ke55, but not the ke30, (20%)
i took my ute over 150% power increase over standard, it was fun to watch them go nuts but everytime they picked me.. out came the eng. cert.
-
imobilizers cut power to the engine, in your case the computer, they only cut starter motor power to impress suits and stop you winding till the batterys flat, i'd have another look at it
its the only thing that lets go without warning and would give you a negitive input code that i can think of off the top of my head
-
mate used the side out of his boot as a main bearing, lasted 600kms, things you do in the bush
now how of topic was that, i'll shut up and go back under my rock now
-
do you have an after market imobilizer fitted?
-
i,ll give you a run maaaate! just give me a weekend to stuff in the new motor and charger
-
sounds like ice in the radiator, steam, ice, steam, ice, guages go nuts
don't you love canberra winters :monkey:
-
stick a screw driver in the shifter hole and stur it round, if it clicks into 6 places its a 5 speed (reverse, i know what your thinking)
-
no worries geoff, just let me lift the motor, wiring, computer, etc etc first and i,ll happily do the swap! hahaha
budget project here total cost to date $1000 (including cut)
-
funny how things get out of control some times, i have a ke55 and stumbled onto rollaclub while looking for ideas on things to do to just speed it up a little
then i thought SUPERCHARGE 4K!! so i got one
then i thought SUPERCHARGE 1600!! so i got one (4a + t50)
then i thought better not take car of the road so picked up the ke30
then i thought SUPERCHARGE 1600 TWIN CAM!!! so i picked up a front cut today $900
so starts another project thread, stay tuned for more
(and no i can't post a pic yet, i just spent $900 i can't afford a camera this week)

clagged up carbie, change it first or you'll get your head full of maybees, change a bunch of stuff you don't need to, and never know which bit you stuffed with fixed the problem
-
i ran one behind a stroked 4.1 with all the fruit, it chirped into 4th never had it on a dyno but it was a brutal motor and the diff held out great, never gave me a problem
i think they have the same internals as a falcon b/w but you may want to check that with a diff shop, i'll take the b/w over a 9" anyday
-
-11 at my house monday morning rolla was a bugger to get going but a little more choke a few pumps on the throttle (can't do to many it floods) an extra long turn of the key and i was rallying my way to work!
-
i may be able to fix that for you next month, but its going to take a while, you would need to bring it to canberra (in winter thats even worse)and i can't even guess a price till ive pulled a heap of bits off
-
looks like I'm making them then!! let me work out the cad design, price the cutting folding and welding, and i'll look into stronger rubber mounts to go with them (thanks for the tip ancullen)
soon as ive got some ready to sell i'll post something, i need to make a set straight away for myself so wont be long, once their made i'll know what it costs
-
every one keeps asking about mounts to stuff the 4age into the ke's, if i built mounts to sit a 4a onto ke eng mounts so that they fit everything from a ke10 to a ke70 would they sell/do you want to buy them?
I'm even thinking of selling them engineered but thats going to be a pain depending on what state you live in
o'yea, how much do you want to pay?
-
Ray Spence at the rover place in mitchell can engineer it but talk to him before you start and NEVER tell him his job, he will nail you to the wall, M&A can do the mounts, Ray will pass them
-
they where making the fellows unload the car trailers to inspect the trailer, then giving a fine for driving unregestered when the cars where fired up to drive back on the trailers
yes they can defect a registered car on a trailer cos if its registered it needs to be road worthy
they can't do anything to an unregistered car like a drag car, the grey area comes in on interstate cars, ACT can't have an exposed roll cage, QLD you can (i think), my ute is registered in ACT, WA police would shoot me if they caught me driving it (150% increase in cubes)
-
i think the only reason we still have the rally is because its out in the scrubb, but a few people are trying to shut it down cos they want to bush walk, thank god someone has a little sence and has told them to sod off
-
sorry to be the bearer of bad news but ive done a few vitaras in my time and when you smack them in the rear it kinks the rear 1/4s and they are a write off, you may be lucky but then again.....
and no you don't need 3 quotes anymore, thanks NRMA for that, not
if they go insurance the company, which ever it is will contact you re: payment , offer them a cash settlement of about half, because it will cost them time and money to take you to court to get the whole lot they usualy cut there losses and take the money, it costs them less in the long run
-
the only motorsport round here the pubes havent killed (yet)
better soak it up while we can it can't last much longer
that stupid flower show costs 4 mill to put on and brings in 9
nats costs them nothing and brings in 11, not counting the extra fines
-
and i have the specs book/guide at work to tell you what you need or can get away with not that thats much help to you tonight
-
and do you need to change the tail shaft yoke to early ke 30? can't remember the ke20 spline
-
sort of related subject, when your pulling an auto out you can leave the converter bolted up, yank the box then undo the bolts on the ring gear, just expect to drop some oil.
just don't try to put it in seperatly or youll stuff the pump in the box
-
ive got room to put a few people up for the weekend but i live a bloody long way from the showgrounds, and nick don't worry its not like the hill at batherst or something, people don't f@$k with the cars as a rule
once saw a drunk guy stumble against a bonnet (shit happens) the owner made him lick the marks off while a somber croud watched on

ke20-in-the-act, you may want to come to the club meeting, i'll want to do a dummy up fit into a ke20, looks like you may need to come to the rescue (and score a free set)
