  1. Thanks Dashills, I thought that might be the case. I didn't want to go through the trouble of putting it in the car if it was a seal. I managed to salvage most of the oil fortunately
  2. Hey guys, I have made a rookie mistake (I think) by putting gearbox oil in a T50 before installing it on the car. The oil ended up spewing out of the driveshaft end and made a nice puddle on the floor. Is this supposed to happen? I assume the driveshaft yoke might stop this from happening when installed on the car or maybe a seal is gone. This is my first engine conversion so any advice is appreciated! Thanks
  3. That seems right... If only it wasn't so hard to find A-series bell housings :bash:
  4. Hey everyone, I just tried to mount the 4AGE to a T50 box. Only the two top bolt holes line up with those on the engine. Also there is a pin that lines up the engine, but the hole for that pin on the gearbox is on the opposite side. Is this a JDM/ADM issue? I know they differ by having the clutch fork on the other side, but I was told that any T50 box will fit as long as the splines are the same. Will a different bell housing fix this problem? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  5. It was the middle of the plate as you said Rian. I was considering that option but I wasn’t sure if the bolt on the sandwich plate would hit the bit than mounts to the car. The new mounts seem shorter than the stock AE86. I ended up taking the sandwich plate off altogether because I won’t be running an oil cooler for the time being, but since I didn’t have a shorter union bolt I just put it back together like this. The oil line is just fed back into the sump. Cheers
  6. It will need a fair bit of grinding to make it fit and then i'm still not sure if it will fit/be structural. I'll see how I go without it so I can use the car to run about in for a while.
  7. That clears up a lot of head scratching. Thanks!
  8. Thanks! If I remove that line, should I block off another pipe somewhere? What I mean is that the oil coming from that line goes through the oil cooler and goes back into the engine somewhere, which is not needed anymore, right?
  9. I am currently undergoing a 4age conversion into a ke30. Today I picked up a T50 gearbox to go with a (I believe it’s a blue top) bigport RWD 4AGE. I need some advice on oil lines and vacuum lines, etc. The engine mounts arrived the other day but they are obstructed by the oil line in the picture. Has anyone else had this problem? The engine mounts were made for a 4age but I guess not all 4age engines have this setup. If I can’t find a better solution I will need to take the mounts to a fabricator and get them modified. http://postimg.org/image/sqnyvj55z/ http://postimg.org/image/e7rkzknrd/ Also I’m not sure where these vacuum lines coming off the front of the tvis intake should lead to. I have a feeling I have to buy a while heap or other bits and pieces to go with it. http://postimg.org/image/c42onr0gx/ A huge thankyou in advance
  10. I'm sorry if this topic has come up a lot. I have looked everywhere and called up and it seems that everyone has a different response. I have a '76 ke30, which has a stock 3k with k40 gearbox. I am searching for a T50 gearbox to go with my new 4age, but I don't know which spline to get. Wiki says "All post ke20 K40 and K50 gearboxes have a 19 spline input shaft," which means that the shaft that’s on the car now would also be 19 spline, right? One guy I called said I needed a TA22 Celica T50 because it has the same spline as my car. These gear box’s aren’t only extremely hard to find but also are 20 spline. Could someone who has done this conversion please help me verify what I need. Thanks in advance! ;) Chris
