  1. I'm going to convert the old carby to a 20v silver top. I'm getting a complete engine. I figure I'll need a new fuel tank. I was wondering that if I got the engine, fuel tank, after market wire looms, ecu, chip, and ignition is there anything else that needs to be bought. Is the Accel/Brake/clutch ok to keep or need to be replaced. Drivetrain/dif. The flywheel and bellhousings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also wondering if it would save a lot of hassle to buy a halfcut?
  2. I was wondering if there was at all anyway i can get a car resprayed for less then a $1000. I will be rebadging with custom badges at a later date so that doesnt matter a lot all panels are straight no rust work and no panel work needed at all. all i need is a sand and spray orignal colour.
  3. i know theres transmission oil as i had to drain it but when i say it sounds like oil in the gears i meant as in it sounded like tipping a bucket of water on the ground or something. it turns out i ripped the clutch to shreds there was no meat on it at all. ive gotten myself an OE exedy clutch kit for $150 from Super Cheap Auto. And my mechanic is charging $420 to install the clutch, machine the flywheel, and refill the transmission oil. so all up $570.
  4. I guess different styles of driving. I definitely am going to stop riding the clutch. At the moment I'm trying to get the thing on the road to pass rego and then start the conversion to street legal rally car
  5. Yeah alright I'll look into it
  6. I had bald rear tyres at the time. On a slippery rd rear end just went. I'll be getting the gear box and the engine removed today or tomorrow and I'll post the problem back up.
  7. I've got the liftback and I've noticed that I'm heavy rain the little plastic cup holder looking things on the right side of the parcel tray will fill with water I think it's the seal but has anyone ran into that problem?
  8. 15" rims. 2" exhaust with a 2.5" tip. You can get the doors reupholstered in vinyl for about $100 a door. LED lights. Power crank windows. Sound system. Shaved doors. You can as far as custom fiberglassing the boot. Bucket seats. Custome dash. Push start ignition for around $100 for an auto eleccy plus $20 for the button. Reso mats for quite ride. That's just a couple of things I can think off. At the end of the day you can do anything cosmetically to the car but it's best to put thought in and do it in your own personal style
  9. I know that you've fixed the problem but an issue I found with these engines was the rotary button ( in the distributor) isn't hard to crack. The metal plate can twist a little and misfire to the sparks. Again I know you've fixed the problem but if someone else has similar problems an looks at this page there's a couple of options to look at
  10. I stuffed the clutch by dropping the clutch around corners. I find the way I do it it stops the rear end from sliding out too much. It sounds as if there is oil in the gear box when I rev at 3-4000 rpm. There is also oil in the engine bay in the corner closest to the driver side. Down near the oil check and fluids. I havnt investigated that properly yet as I havnt had time. But thankyou for all the clutch ideas I will definitely have a look at those ideas. The worst part is I seized the engine of my last corolla and decided to start from scratch bought the car and blew the clutch 3 days later.
  11. but has anyone got any ideas on the clutch? i would rather buy one new instead of ebay, i personaly don't trust ebay
  12. yeah well i was burning it pretty hard in a race against a ford falcon lol. gotta say i won the race but lost the clutch
  13. I have the AE92 4AFC seca carby. I blew up my clutch completely the other day. I was wondering if there was a cheap stage 1 sports clutch that would suit this car. If so where would i find one?
  14. I have the AE92 CS Seca with the 4AFC engine, I want to do a basic stock to street Carby conversion but I would like a turbo ready carby so i can run a low boost probs 4-6 lb. I don't want to do a 4AGE conversion at all i just wanted to change the Carby over. Which brings me to my question. What 2 Barrell carby could i use i don't want to spend a million dollars but i do want a fairly decent 1. I figure ill be spending around the $500-$600 mark. Has anyone done this yet? Webber/Holley with massive K&N Filter on top.
