Getting rid of most of my rust in 1 hit.... My computer is being a wee bit slow at the moment so i'll have a try update some more pics tonight to my current stage...:)

Hey all.. My name is Nathan, I'm 19 and from Brisbane, and I thought i'd share my love for KE70's by putting a post up of my build... A mate of mine whom which owned the car was looking to upgrade to something other than this 'pile of shit', and so with a price tag of $500 I jumped at the chance, and obviously for that price the car wasn't going to be in the best shape, The body was 99% straight (Next to no dings/Dints) But what I did get was an eye-sore of an interior and a boot full or rust, Litterely!.... Basic plans: *Drift* * 1UZ-FE 4.0L V8 (Eventually super/turbo charge) * Series 5 RX7 5speed gearbox with a custom 1 peice tailshaft * RX7 Diff *Locked* (Series Undecided) * S13 Crossmember with S14 or R31 LCA's And S13 power steering * Undecided as to what coilovers...(Reccomendations?) * Hydraulic handbrake * Obvious body/panel cut and paste (Rust), Add some colour, Wheels/tyres, Interior work (Dash), And a halfcage... Some pics of the car as purchased....

Hahahahahahaha, Bit too big Trev, But good try ;) And yea it doesn't matter if it's street legal, It's a track car haha...I'll have a go at rolling them tommorow :) -

Screw it, I've got a hammer, a block of wood, a baseball bat and a dribble of paint to cover up my damage, I think i'll flare the guards anyway, And yea I was planning to stretch the tyres haha :) Cheers for the help anyway gents :) -

Link I'd like to know how this chap^ done his.. :// Cause I'm not really into body kits and I don't REALLY want to flare my guards seeing how ive already painted car :( -
So, I kinda wanted my plan to go something like this. S13 Crossmember with S14 LCA's with a set of 15x8rims with 4 inch deep dish on front and back, But looking at other KETO builds with S13 front ends the disks stick out right to the guards, Eliminating my chance of having deep dish on the front :'( How can I fix this problem, Is it as easy as using shorter LCA's? I'm pretty lost :/ HELP!!! Cheers..

Some pics of the car as purchased... And so begins the fun part... If you don't have a catch can here's the next best thing! Striping along with some cut and paste... Undercoat... Got bored and decided to take the springs out... Spot welded wheel arches for a bit of extra strength... Decided to try and get the shaved fuel cap as straight as possible... Final colour...*Not 100% finished* Anyway I think that enough pics to keep you occupied for a while, I have 800+ pics of the car, So if needed I can upload certain areas etc etc on request... Just a few quick questions.... :) With the gearbox, is it an easy fit or do I need to give the good ol' sledgy a swingin'?, and is the shitfer anywhere near the original position? What model of hilux was the diff out of? What front brakes and coilovers did you use? And well was the conversion relitively simple? Was there much money/f@$king around involved?....You've got an evo running' through my mind, Looks like such a good build mate...Nice work!!!

Well the plan is to finish this build by Christmas/New years, Hopefully it will be roadworthy and register it for 6 months, Use it for weekends and just whenever, Give the rolla an odd thrash here and there then when the 6 months are up ill have a new ute, so probably just track car, strip the weight, increase the power and THEN get a new diff (R31 diff with minispool).... Thinking the '1984 ST141 Corona Avante' diff should hold up by then...Is a LSD available for this or?

As much as I love the R31 diffs it's a bit too expensive and impractical for me, The money I would save if I got another diff could go towards something more usefull, But I really appreciate the suggestion and help chestikoph1.... I read somewhere that the diff out of the luxury Coronas have disk brakes and they bolt straight into a KE...Can anyone confirm this? And also, How would I go about changing the ratio?...Do I buy it seperate or another diff?... What is the most practical ratio for drifting?.....And why can't the stock ratio be used? A lot of questions I know but I appreciate every comment anyone gives me! :)
