  1. Does anyone know of what tie rod ends are used with r31 control arms and s13 rack
  2. got some s14/r32 adjustable castor rods today and camber tops are in the mail so front suspensions close to being finished
  3. sorted out some adjustable camber tops to suit an ae86 (same as ke70) and decided to get the loom out of the halfcut also still trying to get an extended adjustable castor rod length if anyone can help me with that?
  4. The first priority for the car is to get it road registered so massive track isnt desired. Those wheels also have a pretty big offset on them and arent mine. Saying that though when i get wheels ill have much smaller tyres and like you said it doesnt sit too bad how it is but i just want the track to be fairly close to stock for the pits so i don't get hassled then i can worry about making the thing wider later
  5. found someone i know with an r31 so told him to head round today and i swapped out the lca's to get rid of a bit of track. still thinking i might redrill the lca mounts to push them in a little more which will give me more room to move as far as wheel go. before after with weight on it
  6. removed corolla sway bar, etc made some plates today to mount up the s13 gear, test fit it and I'm happy so ill have tidy up the plate and shape them nicely and mount them for good. this is how it sits photo of my clutch setup, need some more bending but almost there found a way to join the ke70 steering shaft to the s13 rack. pulled the steering rack uni off both cars and pulled them apart and put them back together using the shaft end of the ke70 and rack end of the s13 so now they can be joined together without any cutting or dodgey modifying of my steering
  7. got my other coilover apart today and welded in it new position with some fresh paint. also unbolted the ke70 sway bar/castor rod mount and removed it all to replace with the s13 gear. Scoped out the best place to put it but as the engine is 50mm further forward on the crossmember the sway bar will need to move ~20mm forward to have good clearance from the sump. Which mean i am going to need adjustable castor arms, so if anyone has some for sale PM me. Got some work on the clutch setup done, flattened out the firewall a bit so it sits flush welded the s13 space thing onto the ke firewall and put it all in place, spent some time bending the clutch pedal and its almost in the right position now. I also replaced the auto brake pedal with a manual unit, which needed the brake switch mount on the pedal cut off and moved to the other side, easy job but a pain when its something you expect to just bolt in. So next thing on the todo list for the week ahead are; -make a plate to mount the sway bar/castor rod mount in position -put another mount on the clutch pedal box to stop it flexing -make a gearbox crossmember -mount the clutch slave -and get some r31 control arms to get rid of some track
  8. got some stuff done on the rolla today got some 15s off a friend to see how they would fit, will be using smaller tyres on the final product, but it gives me an idea of how things would fit so they don't really fit. will need to get some r31 control arms to bring the track in a bit, ive been told 15-20mm, can anyone confirm this? the coilovers were wound as high as they would go so i had to move the mounts lower to give them some more length bolted it all back together and got a much more reasonable height to work with also modified the engine mounts so the engine could sit in the position i wanted. had to drill and die grind a hole in the original mount to give me room for the mount to go through and room for a nut. then weld on a new piece
  9. small update made some radiator brackets and fitted radiator
  10. by the looks of it it just works off a potentiometer so it would be easy enough to get it to work accurately, just work out the resistances of the original and modify the toyota to give the correct resistance at full and empty... or just leave it and use it how it is. what are the specs on it?
  11. bolted up the suspension to see how things fit... not to the best although it looks like some mods can be made here and possible at the top to space things out a little
  12. no lsd's here... http://www.speedcafe.com/2011/07/29/episode-6-differential-of-a-v8-supercar/
  13. more engine photos for no real reason also want peoples opinion on this cluster, obviously this is just a mock up and ill do it properly if i leave it but seems like it will work better as the speedo, tacho and temp gauge will work and ill only need to modify the fuel gauge where as with the corolla one i need a cable speedo setup, no tacho, need to adapt temp sensor but i will have a fuel gauge and no spacers in the dash. also considering fiberglass to make it flush and also get rid of the standard stereo and put a couple of gauges there instead?
  14. got an rb20 gearbox compared to sr box: rb box with sr housing lines up the shifter hole with the hole in the floor
  15. picked up a blown up sr block cheap for some spare parts, has a hole in the block but the head is ok and has a decent clutch and flywheel, tomei sump, alt, ps pump, etc. pulled my clutch and flywheel off and realized it was pretty stuffed, as was the rear main. got a new rear main from covs for $7 and chucked it on and grabbed the lightened flywheel and clutch off the spare block and torqued it all up. the clutch isn't in the best of shape and is way excessive for a stock engine but its better than the other one i have and will do the job for now. picked up this aircon box off a friends ae71 and swapped him for the blank pipe mine had. had to rip the dash out to pull out the heater box as the pipe snapped off it and will need to be welded back on and also to give me room in fitting up my pedalbox and wiring up the sr
  16. police decided to save a few lives on our roads yesterday and pull me over for no apparent reason and sticker my van again which means now i need to waste time lifting it up and taking it over the pits, so less time to work on the rolla. on the up side i picked up these coilovers today which need some tlc but where cheap and perfect for my needs.
  17. got a picture of the new re positioned battery tray got my hydraulic clutch setup 90% done, just need to make another mount and bend to pedal to shape as well as make a spring setup comparison to standard s13 setup snug fitting s13 clutch master
  18. got a few little bits and pieces done, engine was taken back out and the sr gearbox was sold to make way for an rb20 box which I'm yet to purchase. battery tray has been removed and welded onto the other side of the engine bay and started on my custom clutch setup which will basically be a modified 180sx setup, need to change the shape of the pedal and change the spring setup to make room.
  19. I'm using the front end but making changes to it (move engine forward for more room and custom control arms for less track and castor), not just bolting up and going. I'm trying to get it engineered and road registered, will need to speak to an engineer before i go much further. Planning on using a hilux diff, which ive heard come in more or less the same width as the ke70 one, so track shouldn't be an issue
  20. picked up the cut for 3k. from jpc with the s13 front everything seems to fit perfect. ive elongated the back bolts and bolted up the crossmember but I'm still going to move the engine a further 35mm forward as there is plenty of room in front and it will give more firewall/clutch master clearance and a better gear shifter position. the only problem is the mounts for the control arms sit about 30-40mm to far forward which is the reason for the castor issues. the plan at the moment is to shorten the originals and reshape them to sit in the original corolla position, but ill speak to an enigneer before going ahead. the only other issue I'm having with the s13 front is the springs don't fit as they are too big, easy fixed with coilovers
  21. test fit the engine today. all seems to fit in pretty well
  22. fun times ahead
  23. ke70 is now has a fresh coat of gloss white, just in the process of cutting back and getting the car back together. will be half cut shopping after my exams finish next week. Also ordered some black molded carpet and a boot rubber which should arrive this week.
  24. did you find an answer to this? I am having the same problem
