Will a FWD TB work on a RWD Intake manifold?

I think i was reading something and someone used A FWD intake Manifold cute and welded to make it RWD. I can't find this any where now and i wanted to do that to mine to save some money. Is there a DIY for this so i can take it to a welder or something.

Alright so this is how i did mine. I'm going to be so fricken pissed if this engine doesnt start lol I made a small list of what i need to get this bad boy running. Parts to Finish My first 86 Distributor Intake Manifold W/TB Intake W/MAF Sensor Starter Spark Plugs and Wires 3 Foot Clutch Line Radiator Fans. Thats most of what i need I hope I'm not missing too much. Thanks again for the help guys

Okay i have a lot more info on this I'm not in the dark any more. I have a couple of small problems i want to ask about before i go cutting everything. The 2 hoses coming for the pipes do i need them? I'm guessing not? I have seen a couple of pictures and i don't see anybody that has them 2 little hoses. Okay i have no idea what this is called but i know what it is. I found a extra one in the car when i got it. i switched the sensers and tried to bolt it up and the pipe for the exhust that runs behind the head gets in the way of one of the senser. The senser with the orange O ring is in the way. Do i need that can i just cut the top of it or something to make it fit? This is what its getting stuck on. Does any body know someone who has done a MR2 engine RWD? I was looking at bending that pipe but I'm not sure if its going to work out is there a kit i can buy for the thermostat relocation?

I was just going to cut the pipe but i seen there is a bypass for something at the very end of it. On the picture that little peace of hose sticking out to the right. I'm not sure where it goes but I'm sure i need it lol. Maybe i can cut the pipe and drill a hole and make a by pass?

I was going to do it the same as the MR2 but its to long the pipe hits the fire wall. So what should do it about that any ideas?

Okay guys i have a problem and not really sure on what i should do about fixing it. Because the engine was out of an MR2 the thermostat is on the out side of the engine. One of my friends was telling me they sell a relocation kit for a RWD conversion is this true and if so where can i find it. Or is there a way i can do this without having to do a lot of fabrication. any ideas?

Okay Mounts came in from Toyota after almost a month. Engine is all mounted up and rear end is looking nice I worked all day yesterday and got a lot accomplished.

I guess I'm just lucky Yesterday i tried to turn the crank and it turned i didnt put oil or anything kinda weird because the night before it was imposibble to turn not unless i got stronger over night lol I got that parts car and it has pretty much nothing other than the rear end and it doesnt even have an LSD. I'm going to put the rear end in tonight maybe if its nice out. I'm not sure if anybody needs some glass from a coupe its all good. Car is crashed in the front after I'm done with it I'm going to crush it.

Okay thanks for the help ill try that out later today. Do you think it could be the timing chain maybe when it was shipped it jumped or something I'm just talking about of my butt thinking of ideas.

So i wont hurt anything by turning the crank backwards? And can i mess anything up by to much oil?

I have a really big problem i need some help with. Today i tried to turn the engine over by turning the crank pulley it turned about half way and got stuck. I removed the pugs and it turned about another 15% and got stuck again. What should i do? Will i hurt anything if i turn the crank the other way? It was a running used engine from what i was told. Also engine has no oil just found that out today to. I guess you can't have oil in it when shipped. Will no oil in the engine now hurt it? I was thinking about getting some kind of oil and spray some in the cylinders I'm not sure if thats a good idea? Well i really need the help I'm in a hole now.

Yeah it does sit between the fuel rail but it comes out of the front of the engine. Maybe i can turn it around? I'm not sure ill take a picture and post it up so you can see.

Okay well thats good to know. So is your harness still running in front or did you turn it around or something. Because mine is running right in front of the cam cover it covers the 4AGE on the cover if you understand what I'm saying. This is a lot of work i have never done anything like this before I'm just looking at things a putting them together I'm pretty noob not going to lie so if i ask a dumb question I'm sorry. Thanks for all the help guys

I have a question will the FWD engine harness work? I'm thinking No because it runs in front of the engine.

Thats good to know releases lots of stress. I'm going to try and clean the engine bay and paint it so i can drop the engine in tomorrow i hope ha. I heated and bent the Slave cylinder line straight i was very careful to not brake it. I talked to someone that makes custom lines anything you want so that makes things easy for me to move the SC to the other side. Thanks a lot for all of your help I can wait to see your 2AZ-FE up and running.

To be honest i didnt understand any of that really ha. I am planning on running a switch for the fuel pump hidden under the seat or something i don't want my car to get stolen. I was just worried about the ECU because the engine harness connects to the dash harness and the dash harness is connected to the ECU right? I'm sure i can find someone to help me out with the wiring. I found almost all the parts i need going to be ordering on Saturday GTS throttle cable MR2 ECU i was told it will work. Slave Cylinder New both intake and exhaust manifolds Fuel pump 70psi new from napa. I'm going to be doing a lot of work this weekend I hope i can drop the engine in.

Okay so I found everything i need pretty much other than the dash cable. What can i do if i can not find a GTS dash Harness? Can i mod the SR5 Harness to work? This is the only thing keeping me from getting the car running. Need a little help please

Okay so I could only find a external pump that pushes 20 PSI so it looks like i will be doing this. I'm guessing OEM Pressure is around 70PSI? so thats what I'm looking for I think that looks like it will work out pretty good. I think I will be doing this on the weekend.
