Slow Joe

Back again. Fully recond T50 box has arrived from reputable company in Melbourne. At time of purchase, I explained it was to mate to a 4K engine and it was marketed as a " Corolla T50" , invoice states the same.. Question; Are there any casting ID numbers on the casing or bellhousing that can help me ID it? Thanks in advance

Why go for a 4M. More than likely will need a rebuild.. Much better to go 1JZ, NA or turbo. 2.5 litres and so many options, also lighter than 4m. So easy to get 400+rwhp with a few bolt-ons without opening the engine.

The box is a T50 splitcase

Hey guys Need help and info for the above mod. Obviously been done before. I realise there are two different clutches and this will be handled once I get the 4 speed out. What other changes will I need to make? crossmember, gearbox mounts ? Anything else that might trip me up? Thanks guys Rob

Sonds great. Any ideas when this may happen. Would love to get the '55 out with another group of Rollas . Only stock, but may have the 5 speed in for easy cruising

Hi Guys, another noobie here. Have just picked up a stock , 1981 KE55 coupe. Apart from CD player there are no mods. Only drama, it still has a 4 speed box in it so that will be the first alteration, then a 7K will probably be installed for easy cruising. Other ride is an MX73 Cressida with a 1JZ turbo/ C4 trans combo with better than 400rwhp so a more practical ride is the purpose of the KE55. Will be keeping a watch for meets and cruises and hope to meet a few of you guys
