  1. That is one fine looking twinky wheel!
  2. haha yeah another 10-15mm would be ideal methinks, but I'm happy for the moment. Seems slightly more rigid now too, the person in the passengers seat doesn't lean into me during cornering anymore :y:
  3. Here is how it sits now! Front Back Dayum.
  4. Been a while since I've updated! Been busy with uni and work so had way less time to spend with the ol' ke. I'm on holidays for the next 2 weeks though so I'll be trying to get the new 4K I bought sussed out and in the car if it's any good! Bought myself a twinky steering wheel! Fitted the King Springs "lows" last weekend too! Heres how it sat front and back on stock springs and this shows the difference between the stock front springs and the king front springs and some other shots Would have taken more but my phone died! :bash: Tomorrow, when there's light, I'll get some photos of how it sits now :y:
  5. Lol'd Sweet ride man, super pimp! :y:
  6. Cheers man! :y: So yesterday, with the help of one of my friends, I got the central locking wired up and working! Only the front two doors though, lazy :laff: . Found a granny spec earring when we pulled the head unit holder thing off too haha : On both doors,I mounted the actuators in the bottom corner, down from the lock mechanism, close to that random green strip We also replaced my broken head unit while we were at it and the two front speakers. I always wondered why the old speakers sounded like ass And here's some photos of the new 4K I picked up: Supposedly it's now a 1.5L, I'll investigate further when I pull it all to bits :D And this morning these arrived: Now to put it all in! :greenbounce:
  7. Just picked up a worked 4K! :y: I'll get some photos up soon!
  8. Have a read of these: http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=Tech:Engine/K_Series/How_to_build_a_tough_K_motor http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/faq/4365-guide-how-build-k-series-motor.html tl;dr "Don't spend heaps of money, it's just a crappy old K motor. Balance everything if you can afford it. Use a 20-60 cam in a 3K, 25-65 in a 4K, 4K is better. Run 0.400" valvelift, fit heavy duty springs if you don't want the stock ones to wear out in a couple of years, use 4K valve gear. Shim the oil pump spring 3mm for more oil pressure. Run between stock and 10:1 compression. Get the distributor recurved. Fit extractors and an exhaust larger than 1.5" but not larger than 2". Fit a new timing chain and tensioner. Put something better than the stock carby on, but not too big. Don't rev it past 8 grand"
  9. So this week I didn't have as much time as I would have like to do stuff the ol' girl, some of my uni assessment creeped up on me and sucked up all my time haha. I swear to god I'll get this central locking in an working before Christmas! :lolcry: But I did order some more parts! Some of them have already arrived! Weber 32/32 DIR with Redline adaptor (Only two bolts though haha) Bit of damage on the rim, probably nothing to worry about Also got an Inlet/Exhaust manifold gasket for when I fit the extractors. And got some King Springs Lows on the way too!
  10. Fix the paintchips and little bits of rust Lower it a tiny bit Work the 4K (On P's so no engine conversions for another 2 years haha) That's my master plan at the moment :y: And of course all the little things inbetween, like central locking :D
  11. Cheers Reed! :y: I'll give it a go tomorrow when there's light, otherwise I'll have to get outside and wear a headlamp for light haha
  12. :lolcry:
  13. So after giving the car a clean, I set about trying to install the last actuator. Again :bash: Got the doorcard off and tried to find another suitable location for it, as the place I had it in before was preventing the door from closing. Interestingly enough though, I mounted them in the same place in both of the rear doors, but the one with the dodgy window had no problems! You can see in the photo below where I tried to mount it, the two little holes to the right of the door handle. Not sure where else I could easily mount it? I'm open to suggestion at this point :hmm: Thinking of giving up and just going 2 door central locking, but that would make me a quitter haha. Then I'd have to work out how to wire the damn thing, considering I don't have a multimeter, soldering Iron or wire strippers :( . I'll probably go to Jay Car on payday and get all that though. Here's two videos of me trying to wind down the dodgy window for the first time! Nothing broke :y: . I'm not completely sure if there's anything wrong with it then haha Today wasn't all bad though, sat on the backseat at a weird angle when trying to fit the actuator in and found $2. Score!
  14. Can't wait til it's all wired up and working, then all my so called "friends" will stop hating on me when I have to individually open the doors for them :D
  15. haha yeah yesterday was only the 2nd time I've pulled the door cards off anything, there were moments of rage. Especially when I mounted one of the actuators in a position where it wouldn't let the door close! :abuse:
  16. I was told it would break haha, not sure if it actually would though. Seems a bit intense. I'll pull that door card off on the weekend and take a video of me winding the window down
  17. +1 for chrome lips!
  18. I've only got two photos from yesterday, I've been cursing myself for not taking more! :bash: Slightly shiner K50: And my practise door: Yeah I got an extra rear right-hand door with the car. The girl I bought it off mentioned it was for when the window breaks in the old door, which it apparently will if you wind it down. Haven't been game to try it haha
  19. Mr. muscled the K50 today and got the rest of the grime off, it's not super sparkly but it's better than when I got it haha. Also, mounted all the actuators for the central locking today. Hopefully I'll have time on the weekend to wire it all up!
  20. Sweet! I'm sure I've got some Mr. Muscle in my kitchen so I'll whip that out tomorrow, cheers for the input Reed and Trev! :y:
  21. I'll give it a go! Any particular way I'd have to do it with oven cleaner? Or just the same "Spray on, Hose off" thing like the degreaser?
  22. mmm shiney! :greenbounce: Dat a$$ Tried to clean up the K50 today too. This was the result after an hour of wire brushing, a can of degreaser and some mild pressure hosing: There's still some gunk on the bottom, I'll try to finish it off tomorrow. I booked the car in for a service/checkover with an old mechanic friend of my dad on the 14th, hopefully be able to get the K50 in then as well!
  23. mmmm yeahhh, I likea the smooth amount of low :y:
  24. haha what can I say, I'm a whinger :D yeah man the colour is awesome! Suits the whole silver, black and chrome thing I want on it :y:
  25. I wanna see these pictures!
