  1. Weather shields! Rear ones were a perfect fit, I tweaked the front ones ever so slightly and they fitted in great too! Cheers Reed! :y:
  2. So tonight I went for a drive to pick up these: Perry 4-2-1 extractors! and A K50 gearbox! I've been lazy and still haven't got the central locking in yet, the el cheapo ebay kit I bought seemed to have 2 less screws than I needed. Of course I found that out when I had the door cards off :bash:. But I've got enough money to get an exhaust made, so that'll be happening after I fit the extractors.
  3. Can't believe I haven't seen this thread after months of lurking, this thing is awesome! Love your work, keen to see your plans for the ae71!
  4. Dedicating my whole saturday morning to installing it haha, if you've got any tips or advice I'm all ears! :y:
  5. Just bought a remote central locking kit off eGay, expect lots of pictures this weekend when I install it! :greenbounce:
  6. Went up to caloundra to buy a few parts yesterday! This was the result: Clock dash and shitty broken LH mirror out.. New LH mirror and tacho dash in! A big thanks to COROLLAANDY and PHATKE20S who installed them and dropped heaps of knowledge on me at the same time! :y:
  7. Regardless, pics are lookin' mighty fine! :y: I might take your advice on that forever black stuff, my bumpers could definitely use a bit of love!
  8. Nice write up! Upgrading my lights has definitely been on my agenda lately, even the high beam on my ke70 is pathetic :sob:
  9. Yeah probably not, the popo love P-platers in old cars. Not sure how tough they are in SA though, I've got plenty of mates who drive around in dirty, old, exhausted, low pieces of crap that have never had an issue. Just don't go too low or too loud, keep the wheels reasonable and don't be rippin' da hektik skidz bruz. That's my plan anyway! (I'm a P-plater too :( ) Edit: Wow had a read of some of the P-plate laws in SA, they really have you backed into a corner when it comes to modifications! (http://www.mylicence...ov.au/p1_plater [The high powered vehicle section]). They really want you to keep it stock! Luckier in queensland, where the legislation is buried deep within other legislation so you end up with this legislation bukkake!
  10. Haha this sounds exactly like me at the moment, I'm going exhaust first though! Keen to see some more pics! :y:
  11. I got three quotes for exhausts from some different places around brisbane, the quotes were for a 2" system w/ extractors to a hotdog and then to the sports muffler. Rob Bliss Exhausts (http://robbliss.com.au/) said this: "Hi John, A set of extractors are going to cost you $420.00 fitted. You may need to relace the 'flex' and if so that will coat you $80.00 on top. The system in 2" with a resinator and sports muffler will be $320.00 + tips. If you have any questions feel free to call us on 3265 2044 or drop in any time. Thanks Aaron Bliss" I went into Brisbane Exhaust (http://www.brisbane-exhaust.com.au), who are conviently located near me, and got a printed quote of $720 for the same system. Performance Pipes (www.performancepipes.com.au) said this to me: "Hi Sorry for the delay. Hurrican header $260 2" system with resinator and Mercury STR Muffler $286 custom Allow $120 fitting. Kind Regards Kevin" Hope this helps Rollajones!
  12. I can't imagine that crudish carburettor engines such as the K motor family would like it. This might be worth a read: http://www.fcai.com.au/environment/can-my-vehicle-operate-on-ethanol-blend-petrol "The use of ethanol blended petrol in engines impacts the air/fuel ratio because of the additional oxygen molecules within the ethanol's chemical structure".
  13. Dude, that pipe is absolutely ridiculous. I LOVE IT!
  14. Decided to take some more photos today! The interior is in pretty good nick, I'm going to take the seat covers off the front tomorrow and give the whole car a clean. However the paint is bad in some places, to be expected I suppose. The two obvious bits of rust are in the boot and a tiny spot near the filler cap. A closer shot of one of the wheels: And heres one of the engine bay: Also, would switching this lever on the intake make much of a difference at all? On my observations, it seemed to open up an additional pathway in the intake shaft thingy.
  15. Just read this whole thread! How awesome this car was is giving me motivation to get going on mine! =)
  16. Well the 4K would probably be more useful as a boat anchor so thats a start! :D I'm from the east side of brisbane!
  17. I second this! This is starting to look really awesome, you're definitely inspiring me! :y:
  18. This one looks like it's gonna turn out awesome! I'll be staying tuned for updates! :greenbounce:
  19. Will do if I don't go out satuday night! :drinks: Haha yeah it was, but it turns out the girl who owned it is a friend of a friend!
  20. Yep! Its got a 4K with a K40. It's pretty stock, with the only mods I know of being the wheels and a machined flywheel. Thanks man! I'll put up a better photo of them once I give it a clean!
  21. Last thursday I picked up this fine looking machine! Not sure where to start with my plans, but I'll keep this page updated as it goes along!
