  2. hey guys, thanks for your replies...my computer isnt let me upload the photos for some reason.. but not to worry, i went to the brake guys up the road from my workshop and we figured out that the pads and calipers were either from a toyota corona rt142 or a sigma....I'm gonna go ahead and go with the corona guess... thanks for the help once again! :)
  3. ok cool thanks man, ill put some pics up when i can....i also tried getting some number of the calipers and doing a search on google, but didnt get anything, they are a girlock brake caliper....
  4. Hey guys, I bought a diff off one of the guys who was parting a car out on here a few months back now ( can't remember his username).. When I went to pick the diff up I was told by the guy I bought it off that he had removed it from the ke70 sedan which he was parting out...on pickup though I realised the diff had disc brakes on it....( to my knowledge no ke70 came out with disc brakes). So my question is, is there anyway to identify what the diff is out off as I want to buy new brake calipers for it to rebuild them as the cradle from one of the calipers is missing.. It's a Borg Warner diff with disc brakes, there is only one number on it it is 0570-026900 and no I'd tags or anything. I have no idea how to identify it...without opening it up, I have been told that the corona rt142 came with disc brakes so I'm guessing it could be out of that. But I may have to buy a set of those calipers to see if they match the mounts? Cheers in advance if anyone has any ideas!!! Joe
  5. Hey guys, My name is Joe and I'm from Sydney! I'm a 2nd year apprentice mechanic and this is my first project car! My ride is a 1984 Toyota Corolla KE70 Wagon which i picked up from canberra for $1500 back in august! Ive checked over the whole car and found it to have no rust, just minor bits of wear and tear which i am in the process of fixing. I'm on my p's until April next year so therefore i can do much as per engine conversion goes so I'm just gonna save up for the engine i want and work on the interior for the moment! My plans in the future are: Interior: - Sound system (Double Din Kenwood screen with reversing camera, 6.5" Rockford punch series splits front and back which have already been ordered!, Rockford 4 channel to run the speakers, new rockford mono block to run the 2 12" P2's that i want to fit in the back of the wagon!) - Change all of the yellow bulbs in the car to LED white! (not the tacky kind, and still deciding on what colour to do the dash!) - Re-carpet the whole interior (already done and it looks sick!) - New steering wheel (already done, ended up picking up a Autotechnica black one for free so all i had to pay for was the boss kit) - Remake all the door trims. - Possibly power windows. - Paint the dash black (already done but its still cracked) - Get rear seats retrimmed and find new corolla ones for front and get them retrimmmed. - Make new carpet matt for the wagon section. - Paint all interior panels black...ie kickpanel and door sills. - Fix drivers side front window regulator (UNLESS SOMEONE HAS ONE I CAN BUY?!?!?!) - Install central locking/ keyless entry/ possibly remote start And thats all i can think of for the moment :) Exterior/ Engine/ Performance upgrades: - New wheels (not to big and tacky, but nice) - Fix up big scratch on bonnet - 4AGE conversion/ 5 speed gearbox - Decide what diff to get/ what brakes to get - Remove rear black bumper section and weld up two holes that show chassis! - Tint windows - Look into HID's (i know that the headlights arnt projectors but anythinghas to be better than the stocko's) - Re-paint all exterior black panels black again...ie rear c pillar exterior panels And thats all i can think of for the moment here's some photos!! Note: photos taken from carsales add.... will update soon! Enjoy, joe
