  1. what it sounds like it could be is in the back drum there is a cylinder with a wheel and spring on it, when you pull the hand brake there is a little spring (the one you lost i assume) and bracket that clicks the little wheel over to auto tighten the handbrake, try taking this spring off and winding the wheel all the way back so its loose (you will be able to tell if you did it the wrong way because it will be hard to turn and the drum housing wont fit on again because the shoes will be pushed out) this should work because it will stop automatically tightening the drum everytime you pull on the hand brake, if it does work put the spring back on with out tightening the wheel again, if it eventually starts doing it again you might have yo leave the clip off all together. what happened with my AE82 was the prev owners lost the spring from the left side so only the right side would stay tight. PS if you would like me to take some pics of what i mean because i did a sh*t house job of explaining it, PM me. hope i could help!
  2. Hey guys, i currently have an AE82 4a-c and i am in the same boat of wanting more go from it, how hard is it to re-wire in the silvertop, also how much would it cost (roughly) to get someone to do the whole conversion for you (not including cost of engine)? Has anyone had this done to a AE82?
  3. Cheers for that nick, but why no rear strut? I read that because of the shape of hatchbacks and lack of support between top of shocks means more movement? therefore rear strut and thicker sway bars will minimise movement. i don't know if thats b/s but it sounds right to me, maybe its a drift setup for rwd to get the arse end out while gaining off the line traction? not sure hopefully replaing bushes on struts will help anyway
  4. Hey guys, just picked up my second corolla, a stock as a rock 87 CS, it's nice to burn around until you try to hit a corner with speed and then it all goes out the window. So basically I'm looking for a cheap suspension upgrade, nothing too wild as its just gonna be my Daily driver. so far I'm thinking.... Install the front Strut from a twin cam as the CS came without one replace all the bushes new springs and shocks (prob pedders sportsryder pack) Rear Strut (anyone know a good dealer pref. in SA) And eventually Swaybars (anyone got suggestions as to what works well with what I'm looking for?) Plus i will soon have some 15's to replace the stock 13" rim&hubcap combo
