  1. LOL @ that. It's a car show FFS, some people take shit too seriously. That would've been the reason behind the AJPS entries, to poke fun at such people. Good on you for winning Lesley. Hahahaha, I think I know the car you're refferring to here :P
  2. Yeah I think that was the point, Dave isn't known to be pretty-ing up his rollas for shows n shit like that.
  3. ^^ I believe thats called taking the piss. :D Wonder if I should bother putting my JZX100 in a show like this? My mate won an award with a stock Prius so it might be worth it! :P

spotted Soul Searchers turbs machine in Stirling the other day. from what ive read on here you havent had much luck with that thing - not like Toyota at all :) hope it goes better for you, car looks the business :hmm:

  6. well when you buy a new corolla and option it with air con they have to install it (they don't actually leave the factory with the air con in place, the guys at the dealership have to install it for you) and it takes quite a while. i would assume it would be a bit easier on an old rolla as the technology and the bits behind the dash wouldnt be as complicated. or you could be like me drive with the window down :)
  7. sorry to bring up oldish topic (it is still on the first page tho :)) go with some jap style Ae86 wheels. yes you'll be competing with the AE86 blokes to get em, but shit they look hot on any corolla you can fit em to  i've got 15 x 7 SSR formula mesh with an offset of about +5 on my ke70, and it looks the business. i had a ke55 for my first car, which had 13 x 6.5 Hotwires with an offset of about 0, and it too looked hot as. get something with and old school style (like meshies or longchamps or advan 3spokers etc) and it will suit the style/era of the rwd corolla perfectly, and give it a tough, fat stance.

haha that reminds me of a ke30 (i think it was a 30) i saw, brown form memory (it was a while ago :)) with race stripes on it n heaps of random stickers. the funniest one was 'The Stig' i think it was on the door.
  9. SR20 in a ke70/ae71 would be insane in terms of power to weight, but would prob rule it out of most racing classes. what class do you want to enter? if it were me with 15 grand and a 71 i'd just chuck a 16v 4AG in, twin side draught carbs, big cams, front coilovers (8kilo rates) and rear springs n shocks (6kilo rate), small brake upgrade (JDM AE86 or T18 disc/caliper), rose jointed LCAs, sway bars n adj panhard rod, T18 diff with a mech 2way, neg offset 15 x 7s with semi slicks, fixed back bucket seat, some sort of sports wheel and a few extra guages to keep an eye on engine vitals that should easily come in under 15 grand, and you'd have an immensely enjoyable car you could race or slide, and it'd be pretty reliable too.
