  1. It is the ad for the KE26 Panelvan 3Tg Turbo that's locked and shouldn't be. KE26Mark pm'd me asking if I locked it.
  2. Imported model bought as a repairable writeoff for $10500 in 2006. Has sat in a couple of backyards under a tarp since then. Damage to left door and rear quarter and a couple of minor bits, parts from non import model fit without modification. Right side is ok. Ceramic turbo with twin inlets, wheels look good, 78000 on the clock. Offers around $4000 appreciated. Message me on oh four 1494 five seven 97 , pm me here or post a reply. Lets have a look at some pics:
  3. The clock was in a busted arse seca I bought for some parts. I've seen a few corollas with clocks at the wreckers. The clocks can be seperated from the dash and bought afaik.
  4. Old boring job ended last week so making stuff will be a little bit slower now... I'll have to actually pay for steel !
  5. I've already gone through the suspension and made sure the stock parts are all ok. I've been driving this car for ages now so I want to make changes one step at a time and see what actually makes a diference. This week or next, depending on when I get free time at work, I am making top and bottom strut braces to see what benefit there is to them for the hatch. I can feel that the body roll starts from the back end when I speed up for corners so that's what I am concentrating on first. Then I'll check out what benefit superpro bushes bring and if more is needed then I'll make a larger diameter sway bar. I drive on some god awful roads on my daily commute so I don't want firmer springs. There's a spring works I pass on my commute so I was going to see them about resetting the stock springs so the hatch sits 30mm lower. I'm in no rush. Plan to have the car for a while, at least 'till the new cv's wear out ;)
  6. Have taken 45mm out of the middle of the shifter. Seemed a bit too short at first but I'm used to it now. It's a little bit notchy changing gears but that's ok.
  7. My first thought is worn valve seals. Oil goes past the worn valve seal, drips onto the piston top and when you start the car out puffs some smoke. Generally there isn't much smoke and it should take more than 12 hours for a noticeable amount to leak past the seal. Other then that it is just a worn out motor. When the engine is cold the clearances everywhere are larger and oil gets into the combustion chamber, the engine warms up and the clearances are reduced a bit. A leak down test should point you in the right direction.
  8. That's actually the piping from the efi air filter box to the resonator from the POS seca I bought. It had one end that was the right shape to fit the air filter intake so ...
  9. Have added a chuckleworthy cold air intake throttle response and fuel economy have both improved. ;)
  10. Had the car nearly 5 years and it wasn't 'till this year when the cv's needed replacing that I bothered to do anything with it. Replaced the green/blue/gray(what colour is it!?) original dash top with a black one from a POS seca I bought for the factory alloys 'cause there was five of them. Changed the gauge faces and added a clock. The rear window wiper wasn't working so I shaved the back. I've tried a couple of different front bumpers, still not quite happy yet... In the near future I'll put in a 7AFE bottom end bored out a bit with a new exhaust, shave the vents on the c pillar and lower it a bit. Eventually I'll have to do better than a "20 ft paintjob" ...
  11. I was out the front of the Hamilton Hotel from 7.00 - 7.30am parked at an angle with the hatch up trying to be as obvious as possible, where were you parked? I had a good day, not much traffic both ways and no mobile speed cameras... Played tag with a mate in his worked '87 lolux along some windy back roads, the old 4afc with 340+k on it is getting a bit tired so am looking for a 7afe bottom end for it now!
  12. @ B.L.Z.BUB If you pm me your texting machine's number I can let you know when we are 1/2 hour south of Beerwah heading north and 1/2 hour north of Beerwah heading south(Beerwah is where you'll be ?) What's the 'new' car ?
  13. Only got to give the corolla half a detail this afternoon, decided to shave most of the hatch before fitting the glass. The inside's been vacuumed and the outside's been rubbed with a wet cloth and hosed down. Should be good enough for a few hours travelling tomorrow.
  14. @GJM85 Nothing is set in concrete yet - Rian suggested a North coast run and I thought "What a bloody good idea". Rian wanted somewhere to meet up and I suggested the Hamilton Hotel, general idea from there is to drive up to the north coast, stop at a maroochy beach to catch up, normal north coast run stuff from there - go by Noosa, up to Caloundra and find somewhere for lunch. When we got together I was going to suggest taking the curly back roads south and going to the Beerwah pub for lunch, I'm sure I read in these forums somewhere that they cook bits of dead animal well. If you have alternative suggestions that's good, we can reach a general consensus when we meet up. As I said to Rian in a pm, I'm going for a coast run tomorrow, if it's with a rollaclub cruise great, if not I'll drop in and see some friends, so I'm going for sure. Final time set for meeting up - 7.00 to 7.30am. OK with everyone?
  15. Putting "new" glass in the hatch and the decals are showing some age. The CS Limited is cracked and withered and peeling, and the COROLLA part is mostly see through, but not all of it (it was the only hatch glass at the wreckers). What are my options for replacing the tired bits? Has anyone played around with changing the decals on the hatch glass or have a link to something? Cheers.
  16. I was fishing for some input on a start time 'cause I don't know what people get up to on Saturday night but it looks like it'll be up to me, the newbie, to do the decisioning. I'd like to start a bit early to miss the worst of the traffic heading north so 6.30 - 7.00am Sunday at the Hamilton Hotel carpark. If that's too early feel free to suggest an alternative time. I'll be in a burgundy AE92 hatch with a black roof, "20ft paintjob" and factory alloy wheels.
  17. That Corolla looks like it is sitting at the right height. Why did Toyota paint 'em brown?
  18. I normally go Mains Rd, Freeway, Turbot St, The Valley, Kingsfordsmith Dr(like to have a look at the river and any tall ships on the way) and jump on the old gateway motorway(love those undulating sweepers when no one is looking) to head north so how about the Hamilton Hotel car park 8, 9, or 10'ish? I stay up late and get up early so whenever is fine by me. Pull up at a Moroochy beach car park for some more tyre kicking and a chuckle at the tourists swimming in the cold water or whatever then some more sweepers heading north for a lunch somewhere. I drive a Corolla 'cause I like that it's a well balanced car and I like to speed up for corners so having some sweepers in the route will be a good thing ;) Open to other suggestions, just trying to get the ball rolling.
  19. Since we are heading to the north coast, any place north of Sunnybank is a good place to meet up.
  20. Sunday week, the 4th, looks like it'll be fine. I'll even wash the hatch for the occasion...
  21. Being an optimist I went with "these offcuts look about right". It's an engine bay, there should've been plenty of space and unused boltholes !
  22. Made an oil catch tank before measuring the engine bay for fitting it in the AE92... so I put it up for sale. Next up is taking some measurements and making a catch tank to fit. Then a top and bottom rear strut brace for the hatch.
