  1. thanks for the comments. Its getting close to starting it now. I have now put the front struts in, the car sits really well and when I'm able to drive it i will lower it as much as i can: Also the car is currently in the exhaust shop getting the intercooler pipe work done, throttle body/sc inlet pipe and exhaust done. Once i get it back i will then try and start it. I'm going to get rid of the cannon and get a 3inch dump pipe. I also respryed the tail light surrounds black, and polished the chrome
  2. yeah I'm very haapy with the look of the wheels just have to drop it lower now, i bought the wheels off a guy on ae86drivingclub...they are overrated as only one little scratch, he reckons he paid $2500 for them. I got them off him for $1050 derlivered with 70% tred on front and 20% on rear. the mr2 struts are rear ones, and they fit stright in, however they are shorter than a corona one so you either have to cut your struts down, use a spacer or both. I just used a 20mm spacer on the bottom of the insert and the corona gland nut. That seems to work fine, if i cut the tube down the car will end up too low.
  3. Update: Been really busy with uni and work so haven't been working on the car. Since last post just been doing more wiring, finished off building my struts, painting my brakes and re doing my rocket covers (wasn't happy with the last job). Also i got my wheels. Newly painted Corona struts, hilux brakes, Mr2 inserts, custom coilovers 16x7 and 16x7.5 ROH 3 piece The car is really dirty in the photos....but what do you think about the wheels? i think i still need to space the rear out a bit.
  4. I was able to get some work done on the car over the holidays. I have finishing building my coil overs and painted my hilux 4pots I'm just waiting on the discs now and this stuff will go into the car...pics soon. I also mounted my front mount and modified the front grill and valence to fit, the result: I'm happy with it, i didnt want it hanging out the front to get too much unwanted attention.
  5. thanks mate, yeah they did i thought i Pmed you...must have forgot to. Thanks heaps again for that.
  6. Ok most of the engine wiring has been done....Just need to do the body wiring. Its taking a bit long as I'm trying to make it as neat as possible and hide all the wiring, I was also able make some custom brackets to put all the VSV valves, igniter, resistors and relays in one corner of the engine bay and make a custom aluminum cover to hide it all:
  7. the motor sits on the inside but the wires that drive the winder sit out side but they are not thick so the trims still fit on will a little bit of a bulge, that you can't notice, i will get you some better photos soon, so you can see the thickness of everything.
  8. yeah thanks mate, Power windows were really easy, its looks hard when you open the box and there is a shit load of parts and adaptors, but once you find the adaptors you need all you do is put them on and mount the motor just by drilling it to the door.
  9. ok its been along time, not much progress still going on the wiring going to mount the computer just above the glove box and have the ae101 fuse box under the glove box to hide it all: I also started to put my power windows in got the front door windows all mounted and tested, they work really well: Also got some new parts, got the sc14, i had the pulley machined so that it had an extra two ribs in it so that the bottom bracket didnt have to be modified: Just have to make the top mounts now. I also got a new intercooler and some trd copy extractors: Also all the heater lines and fuel lines are hooked up ready to go. I am now starting of the front brake upgrade. Chris
  10. yeah.... Well i started to put the wiring in the car. I'm going to use the factory ae101 motor loom, fuse box and front body loom to run all the lights and fans, then join it to the ke35 loom inside the car. I pulled apart the ae101 loom to re-run where i want all the wires to run and kebin started to work out all the wires on the ke35 side of things. As you can see its a big job :hmm:
  11. Little update... I quickly made up some custom guage surrounds because the ones that were in it looked terrible: I was able to move one more guage up to the cluster and move the switches down with the oil pressure guage.
  12. never thought about it that way...when u put it like that i guess i will move it....but will it really cause that much damage if its hit?
  13. never thought about that :ninja: well ill just hope that i wont get hit there....i want maxium boot space.
  14. Well i finally finished off my fuel set up today. What i did was use a VL turbo prepump in the tank and modified the outlet of the tank to have an extra outlet (welded another pipe in for return), so it runs: Outlet, return, charcoal can and breather. Then i went to the wreckers and got a fuel line from another ke35 and run it under the car for the feed and use the original feed as the return line. Mounted the surge tank on some aluminum, and fitted the bosch fuel pump and here is the result:
  15. Yeah this is an awesome car....its Lindens car, the owner of roadrunner fabrications in giraween. fairly sure it has s13 front coil overs and power steering and alot of other goodies.
  16. PM kebin on these fourms....we just finished putting a 4agze into a 4WD wagon....alot of work! but he has photos of everything so he should be able to help you out. if u are going a ze with supercharger, the supercharger sits where the dif lock is located so u need to get rid of it and make up a custom one.
  17. thats was you ay! yeah cool we should you car is looking good.
  18. yeah mine hops a bit when i turm tight corners not as bad as i thought it would thou...and i sometimes have to do 3point turns to park the car! but its good fun and you get used to it.
  19. yeah your not wrong!...untill you kick it out too far and run up a gutter and bend your center link 3 days after getting a wheel alignment.
  20. yep i took it to kebins work and welded it up! :jamie: only down side....having to go slow in the rain...i learnt my lesson the other week!
  21. well i guess it depends on ur engine mounts...because i was making mine up myself i could have the engine in any position i liked however in the end it was determined by my alternator. I'm using the standard gze bracket so i can still run air-con, maybe this bracket sits the alternator lower than any of the others?
  22. as soon as you come over and help me! or should i say you do it and i watch :) hopefuly wont be too long i finish uni this week so ill have alot of time to work on it, maybe jan? plus i keep om finding new stuff to do to it...i was able to pick up a small port intake mani the other day (thanks kebin!) so i might run the same type of set up jason is running on his ae71.
  23. it was a manual. yeah i would have to bash mine up as well if i wanted to lift the box. i made my engine mounts higher so that the alternator clears the sway bar.
  24. can the GT ones be locked? because if you take out the factory lock then anyone could just open your bonnet.
  25. sweet...so as long as you guys arn't having any problems, then i guess it should be fine.
