  1. I'm quite amazed at the amount of euro and exotic stuff I saw today. Like even low spec euro... astras and shit. While I was in the auction hall I watched several Ferraris sell for 250k plus in a matter of seconds. Its truly amazing how quickly it all happens and how much money gets moved. Mind boggling. Definately an experience...
  2. Not many corollas, surprisingly. Most were just bog stock commuters or load runners anyway... Oh and I did pick up a little something for myself, a small trinket to remind me of my day at the auctions... And that was my day today :P Hope you enjoyed sharing it with me
  3. Surprising amount of american gear getting around Japan, old and new... one wonders WHY when the local product is so much better, I guess its a case of trying to be a bit different in a land of overwhelming same-sameness. 4WDs a plenty... Ground clearance much?
  4. Oh and if you happen to like GTRs, take your pick... Or perhaps your tastes are slightly more exotic. No problem... Maybach? This is without a doubt the BIGGEST, LONGEST car I have ever seen that isn't a stretch limo. It was open too... comfy :P
  5. Super rare Subie PIMP Celsior Got carbon? overrated original GTR. Bidding started at 5.5 Million yen...
  6. The main auction room... 10 lanes running simultaneously The yard... well, a tiny portion of it anyway I have a zillion pics of the cars themselves, and I can't be bothered labelling them. So here goes... Merc Lorinser. These bad boys are rare even in Europe... Rusty Hachi
  7. ok... so I went to the USS auction in Chiba today. Holy shit. I mean like, holy shit. I knew there would be some cool stuff there, but I don't think I was quite prepared for the scale of it... its huuuge... just monsterously huge... and the cars...dear sweet Jesus there were some cool cars. And not just Japanese stuff either. You name it, it was there, for sale. I felt like a 10 year old again... running around like an idiot, pointing and squealing and dragging my long suffering (and only mildly interested) girlfriend with me as I skipped merrily amongst the rows and rows of shiny machinery... all 2 kilometers of them. I'm knackered. Utterly knackered. I must have jogged about 20ks today... oh and it was about 4 degrees C... plus windchill. I think bits of me a frozen and dead and may never function again. But thats ok, cos I think I found my Chaser :P:D:D:D:D I'll let the pics do the talking. I have video too, but I left the upload cable in another continent so I'll deal with that when I get home. *Phew*
  8. She HATES this forum :P I spend too much time here apparently
  9. Travelling with GF makes piccies of aforementioned fishnets etc. rather difficult, but I will do my best for you Trev :P
  10. Wow... thats freaky. That was taken from dead centre of a wooden bridge on a pretty busy arcade, I think it might be Ebisu bridge or something like that. There were a few others taking pics there... appears to be quite popular. We must have been standing in pretty much exactly the same spot... coooool :P And yes, I'm here.... don't make me post pics of myself to prove it, I am NOT photogenic. I bought a hat that looks like a big Mr. Whippy style poo today, how about a pic of that instead... ? EDIT: Mine has gigantic big f@$koff beam of light on the background and less roadkill/japanese people/depressed Osakans, amongst other things.
  11. Another quickie. Osaka by night... apologies for the fuzziness, thats condensation on the lens. It is soooo damn cold, I had the camera in my nice warm pocket and when I took it out to snap a pic, it frosted up. Its just above zero goddamn deg here... and there are girls wearing miniskirts and fishnet stockings. Crazy.
  12. Day 2... Feel like arse. Osaka is very different to Tokyo... far less tourists = less english = less resturant menus I can read... and in a harbour city with a girlfriend who is rather averse to seafood, this can be a problem. As a consequence we've been eating takeaway type stuff for fear of mistakenly ordering the local favourite 'fried octopus balls' which are everywhere. To be honest I'm not enjoying Osaka so much. The people aren't as friendly, its difficult to navigate, and there isn't really much here to see anyway. Its grey, ordinary, and everything seems run-down and worn out. Just another city... Looking forward to getting back to Tokyo tomorrow... I enjoyed my time there last year. Few pics from today, nothing too exciting
  13. Arrived in Osaka a few hours ago... I'm already having a phat car overdose. *relax, remember to breathe* Unfortunately my camera shat itself pretty much as soon as I landed so pics will be forthcoming as soon as I pick up a new one... there's about 300 electronics stores one street up from my hotel so it shouldn't be a problem :P Oh and its cold. Bitterly, bone chillingly cold. Just nipped out to grab some dinner and now I can't feel my face... its cold. Stay tuned kids :)
  14. Check your bungs :P And everywhere there's a hole in the firewall
  15. A shitload of those Carinas flooded in before the import rules changed... in fact the influx of carinas, coronas and surfs are what incited the carmakers to lobby the government to change the rules. No great loss though, the ED carinas aren't too bad but they're basically taxis with velour trim and power windows. Oh and they leak like a f*ckin sieve.
  16. I was going to... but they looked a bit manky so I didn't bother. Its probably still there... although it'd be a submarolla at the moment with all this monsoonal nastiness up here
  17. It has become terribly apparent that we all have waaaay to much time on our hands. :'( PS: Windows must be UP in he vacuum of space...
  18. Few randoms from my daily wanderings... Weirdo lookin' KE70 wagon. Its the povo pack JDM model, although one wonders why you'd bother to import it. Must have come to AU many many moons ago. Found at a mud pit I like to play in with the fourby. Pity... F series trucks. As stupid and useless as the people who build them. Doesn't fit in a standard car park, utterly pointless... unless maybe you were towing something like the USS Nimitz. Tray is only marginally bigger than a Hilux...
  19. March 20th dude... Its in BIG letters on my wall calendar. Oh and its Steak, BJ and STFU day
  20. Hmmm. Fuel. We haven't really tackled the finance issue yet... I mean this IS going to cost rather a lot. But I have an idea... If we say we're using this inter-orbital ballistic corolla to 'liberate' an oil-rich country of oppressed brown people, we can get all our materials and fuel for FREE! The US spends 720 mil a day in iraq, I don't think they'd notice a lazy trill getting diverted to some random civilian contractor...
  21. We'll teleport them. Winky clean up after yourself for christs sake there's bits of brain matter all over the place... I don't want anyone slipping over whilst moving all this tape around. My public liability premiums will go through the roof.
  22. I think this thread has officially crossed into the realms of utter ridiculousness. And we haven't even touched on Quantum Theory yet... you wouldn't need to go fast if you were at all points in the universe simultaneously...
  23. How many k's
  24. I'm just calling Adam and Jamie to arrange sponsorship.... You guys start creating some sort of myth surrounding a KE rolla and sub-orbital flight
  25. He said FAST dammit, order TWO
