  1. Hey all, a lot has been done to my ke30 since i last posted. My brother was doing my head in to do a skid it ended up not going well and i blew up the unijoint in the taishaft lol so i took it off the road and decided its time to give it the love it needs! I have bought a 2tg engine for it, t50 box and a borg diff (hopefully good enough) to go in it. I have repainted the engine bay morpheus purple and removed all the rust from the front end and have been working on extensive rust repairs for almost a month now. The interior is a lot better i have modified ke50 liftback seats to go in which is a nice touch in the rear but the fronts are a bit rough. New carpet as well. Pics when i get home
  2. As this thread is going from memory until I get up to date, I now began to strip the interior out, removing the filthy seats and carpet, the damaged trims with missing clips were also taken out. Probably the best thing I have done to the car so far because the carpet was awful! The rear had mould that you would find on a mouldy orange, and the front was drenched and completely rotten, smelling awful! The seats were all torn up, looking full of human slime and needed to be removed asap! Underneath the carpet was absolute filth. It all got a thorough clean out and I finally ordered clean carpet for it!
  3. Found an add on Gumtree quite close to me selling a heap of corolla parts such as doors, trims and random bits and pieces that are good to clean up the interior with. I went down and grabbed it all, a box of random stuff for $20, door cards for $50 and 6 doors (four white and two cream) as well which I can't remember how much I paid for them (a couple months ago now). I thought it was a pretty good deal the bloke sold it cheap because he was moving to another house and needed it gone. This lead to me deciding that my doors should be replaced. Without realizing, I actually needed to take off the front bumper and fenders off to get to the door which was a good thing because I found more rust to fix. Here are some pics of the rust that was present and I patched up, not to be pretty just to replace what was rotten
  4. I'm currently running a full stock exhaust which I got for $10, had to weld up a few rust holes in the mufflers but is on and sounds a lot better but the engine is really loud compared to my brothers ke70 and I don't know why exactly. Would love to get a better exhaust some day but thats when all the problems are fixed first!
  5. Looked good at HRCC on saturday
  6. Well, the crappy exhaust from the previous owner fell to pieces! One night I was going around a round about, put my foot down exiting it and bang! I didnt know what the sound was until a couple seconds later to find that the awful straight pipe had broken off at its weld! Time for a new exhaust I reckon.....
  7. Thanks B.L.Z BUB, well some of it is metal anyway :lolcry:
  8. And I'm back! After trying to pretty up the exterior and interior a bit, the serious work has started. Ive began to cut some rust out of the boot where the lid closes. Its pretty rotten and needs to be replaced with fresh metal asap! Here is what I did in a day. This is my first time cutting serious rust and welding in this car.
  9. Hey all, havent updated in a while because my phone dropped onto the ground off a table  when I was working on the rolla (how it fell I have no clue!) and all of my photos were on it. Because the screen is ruined, I need to find another way to retrieve the photos from it and when I do, Ill post another update :) plenty more to come!
  10. Keep up the good work mate, youve opened my eyes up a bit more to ke2x now on how good they can look
  11. hmmm makes it more tempting for me to put one in mine then
  12. nah mate, we both live at home in the north eastern part of the adelaide hills, never really down south
