  1. This winter I swapped some weber dcoe's and a header onto my 3tc swapped 83 wagon, and took out all the emissions stuff that had already been half ass deleted by the PO. it ran great before starting this project. When I went to start it in the spring, it didnt fire. I'm getting 12v to the coil, so I assumed the ICM was bad, I had an MSD 6AL lying around so I wired that up, still no spark. I get no voltage reading from either of terminals at the plug going into the distributor, with the MSD or the stock ICM. I've also tried a known good distributor, and new cap/rotor. Before I started the carb/header swap I took the engine wiring harness out to get at things better, everything is plugged in again, besides one yellow/green wire wtih a female spade connector that goes over to the drivers side, I couldnt find anywhere to plug it in and I'm not sure if it was plugged in before. Any ideas on what to try next? Thanks. pic of the car when it was running
  2. So it looks like I have a ke70 crossmember too... wish I knew the story of why all this was swapped in lol. but anyway, I figure it would be pretty hard to find an ae71 crossmember. could I make brackets to hold a rack to the ke70 crossmember? or are they too different for that to really work
  3. Since I bought this car about a month ago none of these lights have worked (correctly). I can get the tails/interior/side markers to work by removing the tail light relay and jumping 2 of the 3 pins, but even then the brake lights still don't work. tried a new relay and that didnt work. I tried removing the brake light switch and jumping it but had no luck. bulbs seem to be fine as well. Is there a common place for the wiring harness to fail on these cars?
  4. huh, strange. the vin on the firewall says ae71, but it does have a 3tc in it, but i was told that was swapped in. but anyway, if i got a rack, tie rods, and steering column will it all bolt in?
  5. So I recently got a 83 ae71 wagon, it's my first toyota and it been pretty cool so far. Theres a bunch of play in the steering and i haven't been able to find a rebuilt steering box, so i'm wondering what's all needed to swap the car to a rack and pinion because those seem much more available. http://i.imgur.com/9rhn86L.jp[/IMG]
