  1. Our race team will hopefully be sending the 2 turbo cars to Bathurst next for the FOSC at Easter hopefully, sent off our EOI to see if we are accepted, as you can expect every IP racer in the country wants to run that track Mate there are state rounds in every state, some of the best bang for buck racing you can see, get out there and have a look you will be hooked
  2. Running custom coilovers with Koni inserts and reset leafs and a adjustable panard rod with konis rear
  3. It makes about 350hp but plenty of torque, the engine is tuned for plenty of boost down low as the 36 mill restrictor starts killing the boost party at 6000rpm sadly. The magnas are bloody quick for what they are, they do a 1.21 round lalla which is pretty good, as quick as a V8 Brute
  4. Clints best time to date is a 1.16.7 at the last state round http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....08/2007.MALL.R5 1 15 Cooper Auto Electrics Clint Sharp (SA) Toyota Corolla 3400 O2 5 6:31.2006 3 1:16.7152*
  5. Some footage of the nephews race car he's built, enjoy
  6. Goes to paint this Thursday will post pics when the livery and stickers are on
  7. Track day with small video, shock horror the brake conversion worked -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brakes worked fantastic, dropped 2 secs a lap straight away down from a 29 to a flat 27, didnt fade, plenty of bite, car needs still more rear brake. Might try a different bias adjuster had mine full rear and still needs more. The new rear Konis have got rid of the nervousness from the rear Thought I was flying round, nephew took it for a spin and did a 1.25 flat then a mid 24, he rekons a high 22 is very acheivable He was braking probably 100 metres latter than me everywhere and on the power a lot earlier everywhere. Lap record for Mallala is a 1.25.1 for class D U1600, so the car has plenty of potential. I just need to learn to drive faster . Car goes to paint on Thursday, then its stickered up and ready for action Courtesy www.mallala.com Class Improved Production D U1600 Rob Hankinson (DATSUN 510) 01:25.1 Heres a vid of it from the northern to turn 1, mate's chasing me in his RX4 IP car with 13 Bp in it, you can hear the quad ITB's down the start/finish straight then his rotor noise takes over. He had me on the straights but I got out the corners that much quicker I always gapped him by a couple, he' much later on the brakes than me, I still not fully confident with them yet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_GDqNw-JMs
  8. heres some pics of the JFZ brake conversion, we had to make new brackets up because the JFZ have a 5.25 inch bolt pattern, using Gazelle rotors with a adapter plate for correct offset, we made the bracket first from tin and when the final offset etc was correct. We got new 6mm mild steel laser cut to suit, we also added a 7mm spacer on the rear of the spacer for the correct offset and drilled and tapped it to suit a 10mm dia high tensile bolt. We got the pedal sussed and they feel good. Next weekend will be the test, fitted the new Konis they are Fiat 124 and need a bigger diameter hole drilled 10mm and shaved the bottom bush to suit the shock mount. Cheers John
  9. Colin McRae, Richard Burns and Possum Bourne 3 fantastic rally drivers taken too soon. Imagine how his wife feels to lose your husband and especially a child, what could be worse. I know if I lost my wife and children in a accident life wouldnt be worth living. Condolences to his poor wife. R.I.P Colin :D ;) :P
  10. I actually havent installed the 4.77 yet I'm running a 4.11 which is way to tall for Mallala, only using 3rd gear, my brother runs a 4.55 and thats seems alright. Hopefully a 4.77 will be perfect, we don't use 5th but if we ever go to E.C or P.I 5th will be used. heres a few pics of the bros car, hes not really into the interwebs :D Specs on his car OWNER/DRIVER: Craig Sharp CREW: Clint Sharp, Rob Sharp, John Sharp SPONSORS: Cooper Auto Electrics Co & JAS HIGHLIGHTS: Finishing the car E-MAIL: [email protected] CAR: Toyota Corolla # 77 WEIGHT: 800kgs ENGINE: 4AGE 20 Valve Silver Top OUTPUT: 165hp at the flywheel FUEL TANK: Standard with a surge tank BRAKES: Front - Nissan Rotors with JFZ 4 spot calipers Rear - Mazda Rotors with Mazda 1 spot calipers TYRES: 3J Improved Production Car Yokohama control tyre TRANSMISSION: Toyota T50 5 speed DIFFERENTIAL: Toyota K series with 4.55:1 TRD LSD WHEELS: Performance Globe 13 x 5.5-inch SUSPENSION: Custom struts, reset leaf, Koni shocks, adjustable panhard rod Link to Craigs car http://www.iprasa.mx.com.au/cars/77%20craig_sharp.htm Link to Clints (Nephews) car http://www.iprasa.mx.com.au/cars/15%20c_sharp.htm Link to Robs ( Nephews) car http://www.iprasa.mx.com.au/cars/51%20r_sharp.htm
  11. My IP car is nearly finished and I thought I would post a few pics of the car. I got the car late last year off KE25 Racer off here. I have installed the Blacktop, modded the brake and clutch pedal, redid the struts for more travel and Koni yellow inserts. Had the whole car rewired and had the engine bay, interior and boot resprayed. Still have the body to go. 12. Rob if my KE25 is half as good as yours, I will be a happy man, top job, that panard is a work of art .sort of wished I went 3sge, but the plan hopefully is different drivetrain and a boosted 20v in the far far future :jamie: 1.6 should work well with a turbo in IPRA. What diff ratio you going to run, I'm after a 5.1 for mine as that will suit Mallala quite well, do you have any contacts regardings different crownwheel and pinion ratios. Ill keep you updated on my cars as well Cheers John
  13. I'm installing a 4age blacktop 20V in a ke25 IPRA car at the moment, I used 6mm aluminium on the fire wall side as a brace and now it has zero flex, I also relocated the M/C 60 mm from standard to clear the intake trumpets and filters.
