  1. Hey Altezzaclub if it is of any use to you I have a Toyota manual for a 4 speed gearbox, manual no. 96015-1, that i can take photos of. I also have a Clymer Publications manual which has both T and K series boxes in it, it seems pretty thorough, and a haynes manual, 92725, which has both k40 and k50 boxes in it. If you want anything happy to copy and send though.
  2. they are both 16mm sway bars neither of the websites mention the arm length thought the whiteline is a non adjustable bar and as selby's doesn't say its adjustable i assume it isn't either. just wondering if the whiteline is higher quality as its a little dearer or whether they are just trading off there name. cheers
  3. just got a promotion so more cash flow coming in and looking at getting a rear swaybar for my 35. there are 2 i'm looking at: 1 is the Whiteline kit and the other is the Selby kit .. just after your opinions on which is better or if there is even any difference in the 2. thanks in advance lachlan.
  4. hey there guys n girls. just wondering if there is any special trick to removing the rear window from a ke35?? or if anyone knows a way to make it easier (besides pay someone else to do it for me:P). cheers in advance
  5. hey mate sorry to here bout the car. i'm gonna join the general consensus and say stay away from the solex locks, there easy to pick once you know how. if your strapped for cash and can't afford a security system, like me, whack a kill switch in and buy a flashing light and stick in in the dash... looks like you have a security system so it makes them think a little first, should scare off half of them.
  6. i'll take 1 white one when they're available again cheers
  7. thanks for the fast replies every1. it turns out it is a blown head gasket ... and i'm now up for sum fun fixing it :D cheers lachlan
  8. thanks for the fast feedback guys. much appreciated. there wasn't any bubbling in the raditor, nor a layer of oil on top of the water this morning when we fired her. nor was the oil milky in the head. the smoke coming out is pretty much pure white, but does not die off after a few minutes. there was however a layer of fuel on the ground behind the exhaust. is there anything else that may have buggered up that could cause these symptoms besides a blown head gasket?? cheers lachlan
  9. hey everyone. i'm not sure if this is the right section so mods move as required ( but i think i got it right) my mum just blew up her mx5  , i know its not a rolla but you guys are all pretty car learned so i was hoping you all could help, underneath a wollies car park. she managed to get it home but its was running quite bad. we think it may be a blown head gasket though can't be sure, what is a way to check?? basically it is blowing copious amounts of white smoke out the rear and a small bit either out of the head or exhaust. she wont idle and is hard to start. the injectors where cleaned the other week, could this have caused some sort of other problem?? and it is also very wet at the moment, could this be buggering up the electrics somehow?? and thus causing the engine problems?? so is there anything besides a blown head gasket that could produce similar effects?? and what is a way to check these things?? :lmao: thanks in advance everyone. i hope one of you can help us.
  10. Have been planning to mate. Just a matter of finding the money, very strapped for cash atm. may i ask where you bought the bearings from because that sounds ridiculously cheap and is within my price range. thx for the reply.
  11. Hey there every one, I have what I believe to be a problem with either my diff or my rear wheel bearings and I am asking your help in diagnosing just what is wrong. First up the small amount of technical information I know about the diff. She is currently in my Ke35 and was placed there (not by me) about a year ago. She is the Japanese style diff not the Borg Warner, i don't know from what she was transplanted and finally she is making a whirring sound. I have been told that if it where a pinion bearing or any other sort bearing within the diff the whirring would stop if i placed my foot on the clutch whilst the car is moving. (Is this correct?). The results of this is that the whirring continues, which would mean the wheel bearings(?). But i am also told by my stepfather that for it to be the wheel bearing i would notice a sound change when i turn the car whilst moving(?), this would change the load on the wheel bearings, right?. result, no change. leads him to believe that it is a bearing within the diff. my question is whether it is just the wheel bearings need replacing or some other bearing within the diff? or what else is damaged and needs replacing? any help would be appreciated as i am currently in an argument with my step father over what is wrong. so thanks in advance.
  12. hey people of rolla club, my name is lachlan but every 1 calls me mullet. i have recently purchaced myself a '75 ke35. she has a 4k with a 5 speed manual box. I have noticed when i accelerate that there is a flat spot but only on initial acceleration (low revs). i also seem to be going through a tank of fuel like it is going out of style and the exhaust smells very ritch. i have been told that the flat spot may be being caused by an air leak some where. Any ideas of where or any other reasons i might be encountering a 'flat spot'?? i have tried to adjust my carbie to try and decreese my fuel consumption and to try and minimise the exhaust smell but to no avil. any pointers on how to counter these to problems?? thanks every1
