  1. on my ke55, i can fit 16x8 38 offset on the rear, no rubbing, but the rim hits the strut on the front, having said that i can run 14x8 20 offset on the rear, and not on the front coz the rims fowl on the part of the caliper for air ducting... (the part that sticks out further than the hub.)

  2. if you only have 2 speakers running from a 4 channel amp, that is bridgeable, and its bridged. the power to the speakers is doubled, hence use the standard head unit outputs for the 6" speakers that don't require to have that much power going to them

(i know this is not the correct terminology (power) but it makes it easier to understand)

*note, i have noticed that alot of newer head units (well anything newer than radio-cassette) seem to have more bass in their drivers going to the rear outputs, so if your 6x9's arent putting out the bass you want, try having the amped 6x9's and the 6" front speakers wired to the rear outputs of the head unit, less treble though, but you can turn that up.

    hope this helps :)

  3. if it was me mate, i would wire the fronts to the head unit, and the 6x9's to the amp bridged if the amp allows for this.

and as a bonus if you want to put some more 6"s in later, you still have the standard rear outputs to play with.

this is what i have done in my leone coupe, it has 2 5x3 (or whatever they are, smaller than 6x9) speakers in the dash,

6" in the doors and amped and bridged 6x9's in the parcel shelf, i also have a separate sub and amp but thats really overkill, my dash screws came loose after a weekend of the showtek album :P

  4. still looking at plenty of different options with this rebuild before I start emptying my wallet.

I came across the thread with a draw through setup on a 4k (picture below) can you still run an intercooler with a draw through setup and are you still able to gain decent power out of this sort of setup.

    sorry for stealing pic

an intercooler with a draw through is a no no, some people i know have done it, one worked, one didnt, cooler exploded due to it being full of fuel/air and the engine backfired... enough said.

safe to say tom fitted efi the weekend after rick's one exploded. (it was an 18R-t)

  5. hi, well I've finally got a ke55 thats not twisted, so my next question is:

what are the diff ratios for the trimatic ke55, toyoglide ke30 and ke30 k40 boxes?

I have three diffs and none of them have much slack, the one in the new rolla is a little noisy but has no slack, i put that down to lack of oil in it though, its all over the underside of my car :P

but back to the question of diff ratios, as I'm putting a t50 and 4age in id like to know what diff ratios are on offer and what ones i have, note none of them have a tag stating ratios, but my old ke55 trimatic did 6000rpm at 120km/h which was rediculous...

any help would be much appreciated :)

  6. its not that I'm not motivated, ive been gathering parts for a 4age ke30/55 since i was 16 (I'm 21 now) all my projects aside from the rt142 i had have been completed, its just if the council is going to take all my stuff in my yard to the tip, then charge me for it, its going to suck more ass than a homosexual vacuum cleaner...

lets hope the Verada and the leone wagon sell, then i would have room to take the cars off the front lawn, and council can bugger off.

  7. cheers budowski,

yeah the smallport is complete as it came out of the car, clutch through to a/c, p/s, fan belts, everything.

so i guess if i can't find a shell before the council goes apeshit and takes all this to the tip,

i could sell the lot for like 2 grand if someone wants it...

hmm really don't want to get rid of it though, ever since i saw the old lady across the roads ke55 sedan when i was 3yo, Ive wanted 0ne.

and since i saw an ae86, ive wanted a 4age, so its a very nostalgic project, bloody council.

  8. So I have neglected thinking of this for yonks and yonks, but now it seems it might be inevitable.

i have 2 bent corolla sedans

    ke55 auto, 140,000K's

    ke30 4speed, 350,000k's

red top 4age 100kw with loom, comp etc

t50 and associated stuff like starter motor clutch system etc

seeing as I'm broke and there isnt a corolla in vic for sale, or hasnt been for like a year that isnt bent or rusted out or 2 grand

i am thinking of abandoning the project, what do u guys recon all this stuff is worth?

the corollas are driveable and safe, just have chassis damage i didnt notice when i bought them (never buy a car at night)

engine came from ae92 sx, heard running, done 145,000 K's

t50 bought from here, the guy said he would refund the money if it was no good, so it must be, it looks in good nick.

keep or sell? and if sell how much for?

  9. i think the point of the holden v6 (rattletech) is that they are cheap as chips and are sort of powerful.

thats why there are so many poor old rollas/120y's with this evil 1940 buick engine in them.

hehe i should do the opposite, put a 4K and a manual into a VN, the shitter might actually handle with a lighter, and further back engine in it :P
