  2. Hey guys how are you all? well I just got my hands on my first corolla. shes a great little car, KE30, four speed manual but it seems she has a couple of issues :) the thing is, i can't start her with the key. when i turn it to ignition, she just clicks or sometimes on the rare occasion she'll actually turn over, but so slow that she doesnt actually do anything. Ive read in another thread that you can put a relay in to make her start and get rid of the problem, but the description was a bit vague. Would anyone be able to help? cheers take care raff
  3. snap right there!
  4. just remember that the 1uzfe has a bulletproof bottom end... 6 bolt mains, forged crank, forged rods, hypereutectic pistons... on www.1uzfe.com it says.. "What would a discussion of the 1UZ-FE be without mentioning the 6-bolt main, steel cap, deep crank recess, bottom end. This contributes to a virtually indestructable assembly. The stock bottom end has been known to make almost 1000 bhp on mostly stock parts. With a completely stock assembly and compression ratio (10:1), the 1UZ has produced 600 bhp with 15 bs of boost." so although the 1jz can make power, so can the 1uz. plus the fact from memory the 1jz has ceramic turbos, you can boost it like you can with the 1uz assuming you go turbo...
  5. how bout the 1.8 litre v6 from the eunos 30x/mazda mx3? very small and compact, revs to 9 grand. you could keep her n/a or turbo her and have something really unique. bang for buck though (V6 turbo wise of course), id say you'd be on a winner with a buick or ecotec V6 with just one single turbo. Its not too hard to make big numbers out of them motors and plus they are cheap as chips, easy to find and replace if you blow it up, and have support like you would believe (eg commodore forums). still, at the end of the day what do you want to do with it? drag? drift? race?
  6. that would definately be a wicked setup, with enough money it could happen too. i wish i had the money :lolcry: question is, would there be room in the back for it or would the floorpan need modification? also about the idea of understeer and what not. True, the V8 in the front will definitely upset the weight balance, but you negate alot of the understeering characteristics of the car through clever suspension mods and setup right? i personally wouldnt use it for the track but I'm sure for dragging, burnouts and even drifting (once again with the right suspension set up) she'd be a pretty sweet combo right?
  7. hey champ I'm interested in this conversion too, but in a KE30. check out www.1uzfe.com its a bloke in america who has done the conversion into a ke20, no firewall mods at all. From memory, he is using a c4 auto with a dellow bellhousing.
