  1. Awesome. Whats the fuel consumption like with this?
  2. No idea, didn't end up getting it and borrowed my neighbours instead. Shouldn't be too bad though. I know the normal Gregory's was $48 or something.
  3. Most part stores will be able to get one for you if you ask. Sprints ordered mine from their warehouse because it isn't a common sale in that particular store.
  4. Pretty sure he means he is going to be dropping that motor into his 30 once he gets it. Either that or he has a breed of car that changes at will.
  5. Damn well I guess I should sit outside and start taking down plate names then  The Power in SA is down from Gawler To Adelaide, no idea how far in though. So parent is back at home, What Grind's My Gears is those stupid television shows with all of those "You can buy this and this and this, BUT WAIT! Theres More! Buy this in the next 20 minutes and you can get another one for free!"
  6. Wait is all that needs to be done for you to get reported a simple phone call from someone claiming that your speeding? I know what you mean about speeding though I swear the little road I'm on has turned into a highway, atleast with the speed anyway *Whoops, only realised after reading another forum you werent fined, EDITED*.
  7. It's bigger then you think. Especially with fuel prices. Murderess you think your on the edge of civilisation, I think Elizabeth is civilised
  8. I was thinking Kluger. I reckon they are more wagon then 4x4.
  9. Shit, thought you were going to say he's 16. Maybe this is why some people I know have their fridge padlocked with the alcahol in it.
  10. That would explain why the throttle positioner isn't there. Thanks. Although it does raise more queries for me to look into. Cheers for that I only have the Gregory's book for the 1978-19** Ke55.
  11. G'day, In another thread I wrote that I found I needed a new carby that has a throttle positioner and assumed I had one that was from an automatic due to Gregorys. *Check Attachments for the area in which I mean*. My question is, why is my carby different? What use would it have if all of them were the same and all had the throttle positioner? Because of that I'm curious as to why my carby doesn't have a throttle positioner on it if all Aisian Carby's are the same. Again check attachments to see what I mean. The strange Gold picture is the throttle positioner in my Sigma.
  12. "A throttle positioner to ensure a predetermined minimum opening of a throttle valve when an engine is abruptly decelerated from a relatively high speed condition, said positioner being adapted to be switched over between operating and non-operating conditions by alternating the introduction of intake tube vacuum or atmospheric pressure into a diaphragm means, wherein a combination of a check valve and constricting means is provided to optionally determine the time constant of said switching over operation." From http://www.freepatentsonline.com/4059088.html I didn't think there was a difference in the carbys at all either until today when i was following Gregory's book and a carby kit to fix up what I thought was either blocked idle jets or a screwed float. *Notice that it doesn't mention on a automatic about there being a throttle positioner?* I had a look at where the throttle positioner is meant to be aswell and it had a plate covering the entrance. Leave it up to you to decide.
  13. I found out the reason my car doesn't like to idle is because sometime in the past someone put an automatic carby on it instead of the manual. So I will need to hunt down one which has a throttle positioner on it. :y:
  14. Just going to state as you deffinately wouldn't know, my school has people from over 3 hours in any direction go to it, from The Adelaide Hill's around Gumeracha and Birdwood (about 40 min to the school on a good day), to past Saddleworth and some other middle of nowhere towns on the other side that are about 3 hours away. All the P platers that do stupid things as far as everyone knows about is from the Public high school and drop outs from my school. Mind you some people think that they are above what they are legally allowed to do like some 'wanna be racers'. For example a couple weeks back a Learner driver almost rear ending me while I was doing 100 in a 100 zone, he even tried to brag about it to me the next day :y: .
  15. Mind you some people with fast, expensive car's and are on their P's actually treat them with respect. Such as someone I know with a 300Z. He has spent the last year and a bit paying it all off and refuses to do anything dangerous to it incase he damages it in any way. Same as at my school, couple of the yr 12's drive turboed or supercharged Torana's and Kingswoods, they don't drive madly in them either. Also on the no P plater driving a turboed car, does that mean you would say someone can't drive a Suzuki Mighty Boy? What Grind's My Gears is the roadwork's happening in Gawler, making everything held up and behind schedule.
  16. KJ's old red Ke55 SE. Which reminds me, Thanks to Murdress for pointing me in his direction and Thanks to KJ for actually selling it to me and helping throughout all the way!
  17. Got my first Rolla Today! So happy!!! But damn its loud at the moment.

    Spotted

Spotted a far few up in Barossa today. Saw a blue KE30 2 door in a winery, can't remember which one. White Square Headlight model KE55 in nuri just near the highway. Brown KE Wagon, had 55 front grill with round lights. KJ's KE30 and his red Ke55. And on the way back home saw another white KE55, this one was round headlights though with a fair bit of discolouration.
  19. Hey looking good blends in with the 'L' PLates. What steering wheel do you have in the car though? Looks pretty interesting to me. Also I reckon you need older style rims, they look good but in my opinion don't suite the era of the car.
  20. I have heard of something the same as that except for it was with nuts and bolts, and wheel nuts. So that it didn't seem so out of place as a big white or coloured ball bouncing out of a car.
  21. I am lucky in that my SQN (608) is on its very own base from WW2. In WW2 there used to be a Runway, bunkers and Hospital, Messes and Accomodations..The whole lot. Nowadays the bunkers are sealed up or used for mushroom farms, the Runway is now the Gawler Airfield and has been partially removed for the stupid highway, the Accomodation and Messes and now a footy club and dog training area, and the hospital is our main Building. Every time we go to Edinburgh it isn't really any trouble getting in or moving around. SECPOL don't get annoyed at us unless someone locks themself out of somewhere. Mind you for promotion courses we used to have the MSI's Quarters right across the road so everyone was mindful not to be ignorant of them.
  22. Hey, today I've seen that more then I expected have been in the Australian Defence Force Cadets and would like to see some people share their experiences. If you would be able to mention What Service What Era or timeframe What rank or position you gained And just your experiences as a whole that would be awesome. Just to start off I am in the Australian Air Force Cadets as a Cadet Under Officer. Joined in 2004.
  23. Lately it seems to me lots of people are leaving the ADFC because of the policies that are being put in to protect the cadets and staff. Although most of the time it seems to be only making it harder to plan around everything. Some simple things that people are complaining about and leaving over is stuff like - In the field when hammering in the plastic tent pegs for 11 X11's you must now wear safety goggles to make sure that it doesn't get anything in your eye. - Not being able to run in the field or do anything that could even resemble something military like. - Not being allowed to do anything PT related wether the cadets want to or not. And the major thing being not able to carry innoc steyrs or anything else like that around in the field. If they do manage to disband the Australian Defence Force Cadets then it will be a bad day for everyone. Also anyone interested should join the Australian Air Force Cadets, its the best of all 3 services. For example, in the last 2 months we have organised a tour through HMAS Ballarat(think it was ballarat, if not whoops) sent some senior cadets through the Army Adventure training and had multiple flying bivs and field.
  24. http://www.abc.net.au/reslib/200808/r284115_1209249.asx No offence to anyone that agrees with that but if you do, I never want to meet you. Basically its saying that the Australian Defence Force Cadets is making people violent, and that it should be disbanded. C'mon! They even want to remove drill, which by the way is an excellent form of team work and self esteem, the fact that if you do it long enough you will be a lot fitter aswell doesn't matter to them. They just want it to be more involved around technology, don't know how they intend to do that. *Note I do not represent any idea's on behalf of anyone else except for myself. My opinion is mine only and should be represented as such.*
  25. Wow to me that actually looks pretty good. I've been thinking about the bonnet scoop for a while now but haven't done anything about it. SA's laws about them confuse me a bit actually. What part scares everyone at the lights do you know? The bonnet scoop or the bumper :sob: . Looking good for a cheap paint job.
