Last year sometime I had a car accident where one of the front (mental blank as to what its called, holds strut and brace etc for car, has apron on it) fender? is kinked making it unable to be wheel aligned and also a write off. Until a little while ago I was thinking the only way to save most of the beloved car was to find a new chassis which is nearly impossible. Lately in threads where car accidents have happened, people seem to be saying to Put the car on a 'rack' where the kinked area will be pulled back out and straightened. What I am wanting to know is: Is it legal to do in SA? Is there a place to be able to do it in SA? What does it actually involve? Any info would be greatly appreciated cheers.

The "omg Guess What Happened Today" Thread
Tume replied to JiP's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Bought a barbecue today for $150! 4 burner with side burner and cabinets etc etc. The elderly couple I got it off needed something smaller to use so it was an absolute bargain, seeing as its only about a year old aswell and a good quality make. -
Mind you the dash I have on my 55 is cracked as. Mainly because KJ gave Murd the nice one and chucked this on for me :P . Still, better then nothing.

I know how the dust is getting into the boot..because of the rust. Ie I can see the ground through it, its the hole shown in a picture above. I'll see when I'm seeing any of that crowd again, should be able to though. The buckle is because I replaced the KE55 seat with one from a 30 at upi. I actually have the KE55 seats and buckles, it is an actual KE55 :P . So one seat is a brown while the other is white vinyl. It is why seat covers were invented imo :( . As for the antenna there is no sign that it was ever attached to the A pillar. However when I get the car repainted I may move it to the pillar as I don't like where it is now. Both front guards will probably be replaced if I can find some without rust. On another note, do people know if locksmiths can create a key to suit your lock? When I bought the car it had no boot lock as KJ couldn't find it, but there is one on the spare boot I was given and I'm curious if I can use it? (if I can find where my mum put the damn thing).

Wonder why American's seem to be hated around those areas? Damn that looked pretty nice aswell.

If someone in SA thats close by and sending you gear I can simply chuck it to them for you to sort out with. Otherwise I'll check the post office and just see how much it would cost for a small package. Not like I need or want to make anything out of it. So the early 30's had an antenna in the guard..yet this is a KE55. Strange. I don't reckon this car is full of rust, its just where its located that is a problem as the boot is always full of dust. Meaning I can't store anything really that needs protecting.

Roof whre parts are lacking ANY paint. Found out who my neighbours use to paint their vehicles as they are always in the best condition for years afterwards. Its a guy in Wingfield so I need to contact him to find out what has to be done for what prices.

Cheers. Went out and took some pictures (forgot the seat and buckle whoops). Mainly of the rust and where my antenna is positioned. Every single other 30 or 55 I have seen has the antenna on the pillar, but mine is on the front guard, any suggestions as to why?

Yes its an early KE30 model buckle. Took it off because I have the KE55 one thats bolted to the actual floor. Its in ok condition, tops a bit faded and a couple little cracks in the bottom corners. Why? Doesn't your vast collection of cars have enough :P ?

Cheers, it looks sweet when I can park it up at the shed but that is NEVER, so its always got atleast one bird playing target practise. Might give it a wash and a polish tomorrow. When I got the car from KJ the drivers seat was held together by vice grips, so a little while ago went to upi and got a new seat for $22 because the guy said it was in 'piss poor condition', it had 2 little tears and just needed a wash. Got home and changed seats over and saw what was under the covers of my old seat. Pictures below. Get pictures of new seat tomorrow, never did do that.

No, KJ did them himself. He also put red LED's behind for when the parkers come on. He might kill me for saying this but I'm contemplating finding stock gauges, and making the red LED's into normal white ones or seeing how they go through the black and white dials.

Last year 2 days before my birthday I had to swerve a tourist and smashed up my beloved Sigma, so I needed to hunt for a new car and Murd pointed me towards KJ. Bought this car from him a couple months later: 4K motor. 3K Carby Already changed to 4K 5 Speed Trans. 2 1/2 " Hotdog Exhaust El Stocko. So far my plans running wise are to either: Put in a reconned 4K with Twin Webers and Lukey Exhaust system. Or. Simply save up the money for all suspension, brakes, transmission etc for a 20v 4AGE. Seeing as thanks to greenmac (Luc) and some others on the board, it is becoming a lot easier to fit without having to become a great welder/fabricator. Either way the hotdog exhaust has to go! Body/Interior wise my plans are: To get it painted in a dark blood red, with black where the windows are inside the chrome strip. Front splitter, sideskirts and rear wing body kit. Nothing major have already found some pictures of the types I want, just need some money and to find someone able to make. They would be painted solid black with red airbrushing through them. Replace carpet with black and get trims done same except in vinyl. Get entire dash and consoles airbrushed once again in the solid black with red throughout. Sunroof eventually although may change if doesn't suit what I'm trying to make. Chrome sidemirrors. (Maybe from supercheap, nothing fancy). Tinted windows. Quad lights with home made Grill, made from mesh sprayed solid black with red stencilled Toyota symbol same as what is stock on the steering wheel. Power Windows for the front where the switches are in the middle like on the excels. Keep banging knee into the winder while driving and it annoys the hell out of me. Here are the pictures, thanks for looking.

WGMG is something that might seem a bit stupid but.... !TOURISTS! Yes I live in a place that is world known at the moment called the Barossa because of the Tour Down Under..however I didnt realise that having people riding bicycles meant that car drivers could become lax in how they drive and paying attention to the speed signs! Yes, if there are changed speed limits then do that limit, or if you are near bikes then slow down for sure to make sure everyone involved are safe...BUT. Braking from 100 to 40 straight after a hill where you are being followed by traffic is not right! Or....completely stopping after a corner to check your map....while still on the road! On a brighter side note I now know for sure that the corolla can brake quickly in case of emergencies. (just have to try and find the silver lining sometimes).

Spotted Murd nicking a tacho from a dash at u pull it elizabeth.

Apart from one has a tapered bottom out while other isn't. One top out is on the left while other is on the right. The new one is on the left :y: ?

Agreed, very moving add except for the hooning part at the end. However, I'm not sure if it will be enough. We are growing up with a generation where blood, guts violence and death are seen as entertainment. Where they will always believe 'it wont be me, but someone else'. Let's just hope it doesn't take anything personal for them to realise they (and everyone thats around them) aren't invincible.

A SQN for Australian Air Force Cadets has one which they teach people to drive..in cadets. Otherwise I wouldn't know either. Almost stack your car from seeing the KE?

Hovercrafts are strange fun things to be in and drive. Talked to the lady who owns the ke26 wagon and she said if she ever decides to let go of it she will tell me, so if it happens and I can't snatch it up I shall pass the opportunity to you folks if possible. Also coming out of the carpark at nuriootpa around 540 spotted a white 30 with old plates, might be [whatsthename] on here who had the old plates?
