  1. Well i never read any mention about having RWD. But with the fact you want to try drifting? Save some dough, been there and done that your going to be forking out a lot on maintainance and powersteering is a blessing. LittleRedSpirit sorry for sounding the slightlest bit conservative, but the fact is Victorian Road Authority has even seen the word fun. I highly doubt that he will beable to get this car legal with his conditions. I'm not one to debate that FWD is better than RWD in any way shape or form. I myself was looking into getting a RWD hatch, but value for money, practically and the fun factor it was the SX hatch. By the way, I am a major hot hatch fan... So i am rather bias. Adam how much does the Silvia sell for?
  2. P-plater... Plus the FX-GT is hard to insure, and I'm actually quite happy with the sx. I sort of need the practically of the 4 door
  3. Well i have gotten my hands on a SX hatch, which i am already in love with and have already throw some money at it. But i still feel the urge to go further. I don't want it to look like the car is a tai prossie and i want to keep it off the attention from our beloved police force. The car already has - 17" Rims - Been dropped and wheels tucked - 3.5" Stainless steel cannon Right now, it still turns heads and it is such a laugh to drive but i just want to custom it slightly. Any suggestions or advice are greatly welcomed. pics of the car is http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=17661
  4. My advice is sell what u got and buy yourself a SX or GTI. If victorian road authorities are anything like New south wales one you will have a f@$king hard time getting the thing passed and registered. If u buy a newer car u will have the 4age, POWER STEERING! and other shit we in the 21st century take for granted each and every day :)
  5. I got it fairly cheap @ $4000 ($2000 off the asking price). Basically pointed out a few faults the guy had wrong with the car such as rims that didnt fit, tyre scrubbing and bullshitting that the springs were cut. He agreed to $4000 cash. I then got the car fitted with new rims, low profiles and the tyre scrubbing disappeared. I'm saving for a 'performance saving' sound system. I have 6'9s ready to go but I'm still pondering about what else i should do. I also have a sligt issue with the interior. The vinyl lining were the drivers side cup is, is starting to peel away and I'm looking at getting that fixed. Other than that the car has been looked over and given a clean bill of health, 170,000kms on the taco and only the finest of all petrol and oils goes into my car. 7c extra for that better, cleaner feel in the rolla is so worth it.
  6. ok thanks for the help. Any other differences between the SX and the GTI??? Any other legal mod's would u suggest i get?
  7. Hey I'm new here, but I'm keen to go on a cruise and really see what my new rolla has. thats is right here http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...mp;#entry223047 How do i get involved?
  8. Nar i have no trouble with the tailgate. But i do think the back window has been replaced at some point in its life. My rear window is missing the sx decal at the back. But then again I'm not too sure if it is a GTI or a SX. Any idea? It goes with the 4AGE and has the 6 gauge dash but other than that i can't tell the difference.
  9. Hey, found this forum and thought id share some pics of my 1.6L beast. The car i bought about a month ago, a 1990 SX Hatch, it was it great condition with only minor attention needed. It comes with the following. - 17'' Rims /low pro - 3.5" stainless steal exhaust - Dubbed and lowered - Pearl white spray The sound system needs some attention but the engine is in great order and has been given a clean bill of health and the go ahead to be dynoed. I'm checking how much power the car has lost over the years and I'm looking at getting it back
