  1. Totally agree Ryan. If you wanna go do that, go for it but don't want those antics getting the rest of us in the shit. There's a time and a place and a cruise isn't one of them

IF you in any way, shape or form, misbehave or endanger anyone's life, I would hope someone on here would write down your numberplate and submit a statement to the closest police station to get you off the road for a very long time.

As others have said, there is a time and a place for driving like a complete wanker, and that would be a race track, not a public road where you can kill someone because you don't have the mental capacity to operate your vehicle in a safe manner with respect to other road users.

    spot on

    cruise is leisurely

hills racing is kinda illegal and dangerous

    save it for the track

nothing wrong with having a good time meeting people with like minded interests such as corollas but come on if ya wanna express yourself by driving your car fast who are you really impressing ??

:) us old fellas been there done that and know the whats at stake, i can tell a few stories and not proud of any of them

  2. $400 thats cheap. Take a spare battery and some fuel to get it started ?

biggest thing iv'e seen go wrong is just worn out pitman arm and idler arm in the steering other than that i think they handle pretty good.

pretty solid car so basic but like any 30 odd year old car maintenance should be be done to bring it up to a maintainable standard. Such as all drive line oils,air/oil/fuel filters, coolant, brake fluids and possible master and wheel cylinders might need to be replaced, usually found leaking after changing the brake fluid LOL.

then the shopping list might increase to new radaitor, water pump, hoses, fan belt, few globes to keep the police from sussing you out and heck maybe even tyre's.

only my 2 cents worth but its what id be looking at and doing once iv'e bought the car.

  3. GOOD oil, changed every 5k, filter every 10k

    Get a turbo timer

    GOOD oil

Never run less than 95 octane

    GOOD oil

Quote is meant for Istartfires not trying to step on anyones toes :)

Yeh good, ester base is my prefered oil. royal purple or motul chrono 300V 10w/40, my partner put 91 in it once and it ran like it had a misfire :) 98 back in runs superdooper :)

turbo timer very cheap just keep it hidden.

I bought 10 pack of genuine oil filters in bulk brought the price per filter down to 11 dollars. the copper sump plug washers new could be reused upto 3 services

some like to use a cheaper motul oils due to cost but from what ive read if it isnt an ester based oil it wont protect the fine tolerances of the engine/turbo under stress/heat carbon and sludge buildup ect ect.(after reading 96 pages and reading the links on oils)

    $90-100 for royal purple 10W/40

$150 ish for motul chrono 300V 10W/40 ned to buy 4L and then a 2L unless they have started to make a 5L bottle :)

oil filters on their own range between 18-25 depending on where who and what brand you buy. Id steer clear from ryco and cooper ect genuine does the job best for budget.
