Nah, te27 moulds mate!. Hokey, you won't avoid the pbr m/c, at all. Maybe efi might, but side draughts won't!!!! I can guarantee it........ Just get a ke30 booster and m/c from the wreckers. I think I paid $70.

Gday hokey. Basically what I did was used modified engine mounts rather than modify my cross member. I still had to use a new hole in the engine mount, but the engine sits more to the drivers side than if I just used standard ta22 mounts. The mounts I have have been cut and welded slightly. Not majorly though, I got them like this and if I were to do the conversion again I probably wouldn't worry about it. The bloke who helped the most with my conversion has been involved with building a few 2tg ke35 race cars and on all of them they haven't worried about it. The amount that you have to move the engine to have it sitting dead straight is not imperitive to handling, it's mor for looks. Unlees you were going to build an absolutely ultra-perfect race car then I would not worry about it. Here you can see how I used the different holes in the mounts.
  4. haha. I'd hate to imagine mate! I've seen the work you've put into it!

  8. I was just putting my view forward regarding the aspect of buying a te27/37. I guess whatever you buy, the modifications don't add to the re-sale. Which reinstates your point of the easily undone mods felix.
  9. Mate, we do up our little cars because we love it! I don't regret it at all!!!!! It just makes you realise when you add up all the things you spend money on when doing it!!!!! Anyone want to buy a ke55??? lol I will keep adding to this post as I remember things I have spent money on........ I could use it as a selling point one day!!!!

  12. I'm not bagging your opinion, don't get me wrong. But like you say..............It's only a corolla, Ke25 or te27, I like them both, and whether it's a genuine levin or a 25 done up, it's still just a dirty ol' corolla! I'll worry about putting kays on my car when it's a ferrari!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Well, I've put about $5000 into my ke55 all up including purchase price and the fact is it's still worth $1500! All I've got is a 4 door ke55 with a 2tg and a set of wheels. If it was a genuine te37 and I spent $1000 on it then at least I wouldn't have lost so so much if I sold it. ke55 700 2tg 550 carb body 50 t50 100 clutch setup 250 exhaust 240 wheels 360 tyres 860 tacho 160 temp guage 85 seat 100 harness 150 flares 330 landed momo 100 boss kit 80 fuel pump 80 clutch master cyl. 80 new (wrecker) brake parts 70 new pads 80 konis 440 springs 140 Miscellanious 800 Well, theres $5725....................And I'm sure there's alot I've forgotten. I've also got over 2 grands worth of stereo, If I could get a te37 landed for 8to 9 grand, I would drive the ring out of it every day, and then sell it after a couple of years for more than I could get for my car!!!!!!!!!!!! I love my little car, I have built it, and it's my creation. But at the end of the day, what is someone going to give me for it???????????????????????? Offers!!!!????????????!!!!!!!!!???????????? lol

Took it for a thrash last night, handles like a go-kart! And with the lightened flywheel it has lost that below 4 grand lagging I had from too much juice. I can see the diff won't last too long with the new clutch either. Hopefully get out to the track this weekend and see what times I can do. :jamie:
  24. Sweet rolla mate.! :jamie:

Yep, Cut both the inner guard and outer guard. Then welded them together. You can either cut them at the same height and weld a bit in between them, or cut the outer guard then bend the inner guard out and weld. then grind.
