  1. Well here's the block all painted and fresh from the machine shop and the pretty shiny crank fresh from the machine shop.
  2. I'm looking for diagrams and information on my Holley 5210 that I'm going to install on my 3TC, I need to know what the vacuum ports are and which is the fuel in and fuel return. I already know this is a water choke variant.
  3. Nope you haven't but this will help for sure, thanks. All I need help with now is the TE72, here's a copy of what I got from somebody:
  4. I have an AE86 GT-s Gauge cluster that I will be putting in my 1980 Toyota Corolla Liftback with a 3TC and T50 tranny, the stock gauge cluster also has a tachometer. Just doing the change because of the rev limit and speedo is higher. I need the color coding of the 1980 TE72 Corolla Liftback Gauge Cluster wiring and I need the AE86 GT-s wring confirmed, here's the AE86 GT-S Gauge Cluster wiring color coding that I have, just need to make sure that it's correct: White Plug: Black/Brown = Tachometer wire (goes to ignition coil) White/Black = High Beam Indicator - Blue/White = Speed Sensor + Tan/Black spot = Speed Sensor - Red/Green = Door Indicator + Red/White = Door Indicator - Red = Seat Belt Light Yellow/Blue = Fuel Light Yellow/Red = Fuel Meter Tan/Black spot = Ground Green/Black = Left Signal Green/Yellow = Right Signal Blue Plug: Black/Brown = Dash lighting ground Green/Brown = Dash lighting Yellow/Green = Water temp meter Red/Blue = Power source Red/Black = E-Brake Light White/Green = Check engine light Second section of blue plug Yellow/Black = Oil Pressure Black/Orange = Charge Indicator + Yellow = Charge Indicator - Red/Green = High Beams indicator +
  5. More pictures, short block completely disassembled, except for some bearings. Will be soaking some of the parts in Rotella oil to start cleaning them.
  6. Making some good progress with the engine so far, head is off, found out that the EGR ports won't come off so I'm going to get them welded shut instead. Pushrods are good, lifters are actually surprisingly in good shape, so I will reuse them, I'll post pictures of those parts when I clean them up a bit. The only main issues I see are the valve cover and oil pan gaskets are really sticky, other than that everything is in good shape, I think I may change plans and just put new piston rings on, maybe new bearings, and milling the head and block a little to bump up compression instead of using the pistons I have, which I will probably use in a later build or sell. Anyways hear are pictures of the short block. Looks like the carbon build up indicates maybe to much fuel, so I'll have to clean those up when I pull out the rotating assembly when I get the short block hot tanked.
  7. Here are the pics with the engine out: Empty and dirty engine bay Pics of the engine after some cleaning and it's still dirty: Basically, I've got a lot of cleaning to do, and I have things to block off on the block it looks like, if anyone can point out some things that can be blocked off other than the obvious stuff like the: 1. Fuel pump for electric one 2. EGR ports below exhaust ports 3. The emission piece on the top left on the front of the engine.
  8. More disassembly: Old Carb and Dizzy out: Intake Manifold out: Intake, Carb, Dizzy:
  9. Parts that have come in: Topline OE Conrods: More parts, Ground Control 7.1k, T3 Advanced Strut Tube Spacer, KYB AGX, MSD 6A :)
  10. And the dismantling continues Condenser is out ] Air Injection Pump is out: AC Compressor is out: Starting get more progress done: AC Compressor on the left, AIR Injection pump on the right More AC crap: Left over Pulleys:
  11. So I've started tearing apart my 1980 Corolla, so far it's going pretty good, not too much rust, but I do need replacement parts, the front valance that goes behind the bumper need replacing, since mine is bent out of shape. Anyways here's are pictures of what I've done so far. Headlights, Grille, and Turn Signal lights removed Bumper cover removed What's left of my Battery shelf Front Bumper completely removed Radiator removed, still had brown crap in it even after trying to flush it. How she stands now.
  12. Ok, so I definitely know that I have a backfiring issue, going through my exhaust. Now, all I know is these issues, this is on a 3-TC motor with stock carb. Car Idles at roughly 1000-1100 RPMs Car seems to run rich Back fire happens backing off the throttle Help is appreciated in figure out what my problem is. I've changed these parts: New NGK Plugs New Wireset New Distributer Cap New Distributer Rotor MSD Blaster 2 Coil Header back exhaust installed I'm thinking it's just that my car news a carburetor adjustment and/or timing adjusted, but I'm not sure right now. Thanks for any help.
  13. Yeah, well I needed something to replace the shot suspension, at the moment I'm not sure what I should use up front, the Excel-G inserts are the GR-2 equivalent, actually they are the same line from KYB, from what I saw on a website. Anyways I've been having trouble finding much else, that doesn't take a while to get, I wouldn't mind getting Tokico shocks, but I'm not sure the best place to get them is. Anyways, I'm in the San Diego area. Anyways thanks for the welcome :(
