  2. Cool hopefully not too much work. Fired her up and drove her round the yard today. Considering it has been sitting for 3 years it runs pretty well :)
  3. sorry to hear about your friend mate. thumbs up for keeping the dream alive :) and if we can help in any way you let us know :y:
  4. rust is abit worse than i thought in some places :( ....good thing its not going to be on the road for a while.....so i have time to get the job done right!
  5. well matt knows i want them so they are staying put for the time being. and to top off the weekend got a bit of spare time this arvy to give her a bit of a wash......i almost jizzed my pants when i saw the awesomeness of the front end once it was cleaned up! ;)
  6. Thats a nifty idea bamboo, might look into that. I was thinking of putting some bigger speakers in the back too but if they don't fit under the trims in the sides I will be putting the same size in.
  7. first post has been updated all details must be read and fully understood before attending
  8. if you want another wagon for parts i know where there is one for sale down the road :) not sure how much they want for it but it looks pretty tidy
  9. you know how i feel about this car....... do you reckon you will be able to make it down to the magic mile at the end of the month?
  10. well teddy i have never had an 18r before but from what i have seen so far with the motor it sounds like it should be in an old massey ferguson of some sort :) may have a 2rz lined up :):):) if ella is keen?
  11. It could definitely do with a wash I know that for sure! A buff and polish those lovely chrome bumpers is a definite too! Drove it out of the carport on my lunchbreak and did a bit of a clean up.....just getting rubbish out of the car. I don't think it would take much at all to get the old girl registered :)
  12. Another thing mate check to make sure the bottom half of the radiator isn't blocked, which would only allow whatever water can flow from the top hose and whatever is in the motor to heat up......which when it starts getting hot and building up pressure would be spewing it straight out the overflow on the reservoir, if that makes sense? Try taking the bottom hose off the radiator and holding a garden hose in the top and make sure the water flows freely and clean. If not......new or 2nd hand radiator may be the way?
  13. new pics up guys put my work wheels on 4 sho :)
  14. 4 speed sounds nice and smooth too! love the colour just suits the car :)
  15. I do have an aux cable that runs to rca's.......could be an option. The stereo isn't a necessity atm since its not on the road so can gather a few ideas as we go along.
  16. yeah only problem is i will use the glovebox......some pondering masy have to be done on this topic.... :hmm:
  17. not much jj will fix the rust and have a respray in mind  I'm abit stuck though i don't want to cut up the dash for a cd player.....wonder if the tape deck is standard single DIN size? otherwise i will be mounting under dash too much respect to cut up such a clean dash. all new rubbers and bushes too..have some work ewing 15 inch wheels to fit under the guards :) pretty much a cruiser
  18. hey guys finally got around to picking up this little gem from a old bloke the next town over for $300. had been sitting since 2008 when the rego ran out, so we rocked up this arvy with a jerry can and a battery......long story short few pumps on the pedal and SHE LIVVVESSSS!!! so down to the important stuff: 18R-C backed by a 4 speed manual, all original granny spec including untouched uncracked original dash with original radio and tape deck, all original chrome hub caps, phat ass grille :) few spots of rust here and there, but nothing unfixable. only have one pic at the moment guys :( will be taking some more tomorrow 4 sho. new pics added!!!
  19. lol nah not as cliche as that carlos but it should be long enough to get a decent run.
  20. don't forget to post up a pic of the rig with the wheels on so we can see dude! i will put one of mine up when i can
  21. i can't remember what they are called, but you need the wheel nuts that are tube shaped on the end so they will actually slot inside the stud holes on the wheels.....do they call those lug nuts? i can't remember, but those are the ones you will need. don't buy super cheap ones, they are just an accident waiting to happen. so either from repco or a tyre shop, but make sure you state the make and model they are going on....i have a feeling ke70 are 12x1.25 thread? depending on where you buy them from and how many, they will generally range from $2.50 to $4.50 each, so expect to pay a fairly hefty price for a good set

  23. they are getting harder to find, especially in a fairly good condition. the lancer would be worth more without a doubt, but whats cooler: a 2004 lancer like every other lancer out there, or a KE35 coupe that is one of only very few that hasnt met the scrap yard? the coupes will only go up in value, will be worth more than the lancer in the not too distant future. :) thats just what i reckon anyways. god dammit i wish i hadnt sold mine :(
  24. for starters, check for bog. he may have just painted it and it may look good, but you don't know how extensive the repairs were before it was painted. second, check to make sure the 5 speed is mod plated, because from memory 5 speed didnt come out till late ke55's? and finally if you want to swap a 2004 lancer for it, you would want it to have rego and roadworthy supplied, and if you havent done so already, take it for a drive, see how well it corners, stops and starts......well actually make sure it does all the above. other than that good luck mate, should be a good car, they always are :) sad to see someone else getting a coupe after i sold mine :(
