  1. hey all need help

put the 20v in my seca but I'm having fuel prob the car is getting to much fuel.

its got standard 20v computerwith a vl pump.

the car iddles good but blows heaps of black smoke just on idle then when i accelerate i cutts out but if i accelerate softly runs fine

    HELP

I'd dare say your timing belt is out a few teeth.

  2. i've got a 4A-FC, i had a 2inch exaust fitted from the resonator back with a good quality Zetti cannon. Sounds like a RubarU. The exaust on a Seca 1.6 is 2 inches from the flange to the resonator and 1 1/2 inches from the resonator to the tip, which is poo.

I kept the standard manifold. I gave the exuast ports a grind and polish and did the manifold to suit. It now breaths a lot better at the top end. Considering these motors were manufactured with a mere 76 kilowasps its almost trivial spending any real money on them.

I payed $270 for the cannon, $130 to have the exuast and cannon fitted and $10.50 for the flange rings when pulled the manifold off.

  3. Retarded as in broken? Or retarded as in Late Timing?

    I had a RWD 4A-C in a AE84.

Have you ever changed the timing belt? I did. The engine would cough at low end then almost boost up to about 4000rpm then just fizz out again. Couldn't get it right. Eventually the the valves burned out and she died. Turned out I was 1 tooth retarded on the belt....

  4. I got a hold of a dash cluster with a tacho in it for my ae92... when i fitted it all sorts of things were wrong because the wiring film on the back didn't match up to the lume I was plugging it into to. That and my speed ended up 15kph out so after 30,000kms I got really annoyed and changed it back.

I now find it just as easy to drive with out a tacho....

  5. I bought this Corolla in 2005, I previously had a KE30 2 door with a 4K 4speed, my first car.

Then I bought a KE70 4K 4speed for $400, That was awesome. I gave it to my dad and he put a 3T 5 speed in it with a 180 holley. pictured below.

After that I picked up a KE84 Spirit RWD with a 4A-C 5speed for $250. I decked that out and blew it up trying to play Initial D. Gave it to my brother for $50 as his first car. The butthead pulled the tough suspension, gearbox and diff out and made $900 on it! Not happy I wasn't!

Finally bought the Seca CS for $4000 a year ago. Looking to do a conversion to 20V but not sure whether its worth the work and $$$.

This is the Seca to date....
