  3. Hey guys, i've spend a while searching on this forum for a 5k supercharged pictures, but only manage to find a 5k/4k EFI set-up. Just wanted to know if any 1 out there that has a 5k carbi set-up. Interested in supercharging my 5k (with 32/36 carbi) just wanted to get rough view of some fotos with the draw through set-up. And I'm not after "maximum power or psi". Just time for something new and different Looked up alot of previous 4k set-ups.. alot more technical than i thought Cheers Ross

  7. wen i first got it (no rego) just had it idling in garage..no problems... as i got rego and started driving it after about 20mis to 30mins of driving its fine...but after that wen i hit traffic it hits 3/4 maybe even higher, ive popped the bonnet while running(wen temp was hot) and radiator isnt steaming etc like the engine isn't actually hot.... I'm thinking of hookin another temp gauge...but don't think i have one... cheers
  8. is has a bolt on clutch fan (bigger than factory 4k size) no shroud is on..but i do have it. It begins heating up in traffic, and wen you drive it drops down abit cheers
  9. Hey guys ive got a 5k with extractors/2.5 inch exhaust 32/36 DGV carbi. Unsure of cam/head work. My 5k engine hits 3/4 on the temp after its been running for a while, i've checked if temp gauges etc were faulty by an auto electrician but there all fine...i recently did a pressure test on the radiator (my radiator has water in it) pumped 13 psi and seemed to hold pressure just fine, i did pump it up and pull all spark plugs out and turned over the engine, abit of sum water/mist came out of cylinder 1 and 3... which means might have slight head gasket crack right? but unsure if thats why its over heating... Also there is no thermostat in my 5k..which means my car will only be over cooling right? So that can't be the problem to the over heating...? I'm thinking of flushing the water out and replacing with coolent..but it wont make that much of a difference..surely that can't be why its over heating. I'm thinking of putting a thermostat in..as my car didnt come with one.. just running out of ideas what the problem can be. If any one has any help please let me know..as i jus put rego and now can't drive it peacfully!! :S Cheers john
  10. Hey guys, just wanted to ask what carbi this is... as i have no idea. Is it any good? Or could i have something better on there? How much is mine worth? I think my engine mite have abit of head/cam work... as i bought a kinder surprise engine... previous owner had no idea what was done to the car. Anywayz cheers John
  11. Hey guys i picked up this sweet ke55 coupe. Been out of rego for 2 years though :yes: But not much needed to be back on the road. I sold my rotary (in my display pic), as rotary engines just piss me off ;) Its got a 5k with extractors, 2.5 inch piping with dump pipe. Its got some type of sport carby instead of the standard. Does have the factory 5spd. It does start how ever battery is dead! Has the cleanest body i have ever seen in a while for a old car, apart from tiny amount of rust above my rear right tail light. Interior isnt too bad, just need new pair of front seats and new dash pad (already posted add for them). And it is missing the chrome strip above the window top area (exterior) and have been told they are impossible to hunt down....so spewing about that!! Anywayz will update in few week as ive only had it for 3 days!! cheers John

  16. hahah yeah thats what i'm after "fooling the community"...your gonna be thinking it's a rotar ;). I would put a actual rotary in it...but i hate dealing with them...learnt enough with one in my rx3!! ok cool, so some big arse cams, lighten fly wheel should be my "to do list"
  17. Hey guys, i recently just left the rotary scene as it's one big shit fight dealing with those engines!! And just bought a ke55 coupe with a 5k. So what i'm after is that lovable rotary idle in my 5k..hence with out the rotary engine!!! The car does currently have webber, with extractors/exhaust (2.5 inch i think...to big should be 2inch right?) and a little dump pipe. But no where near loud enough to have that rotary sound. I did check on search on how to make 5k's sound like rotary's. But the information was limited, and kind of confused me. So if there is just a straight explantaion on what mods to be made, to get what i'm after that would be great! I did read that cams are a big helpful option...but don't really want to do that quite yet!! Cheers John
  18. i had a 13bbp in my mazda 808 (850kgs) and thats was plenty of power!!!, but 13bt was not aloud :P 12at good to as its a 1.3L and revs harder than a 13b (can get upto 13k rpm!!!) i still reakon go for the rotary as they sound crazy!!! but don't forgot ur neighbors will become shitty..from personal expierance.....so maybe v6 better choice o.O?
  19. I'm thinking of doing the same thing, but I'm after something that idles like a rotary, that nice bridge port sound...but with out the rotary engine would be great :jamie:
